Hmmmmmm … I didn’t expect to have to fight someone from the refuge, but here we are …
my weekends suck balls until we’re through October.
AND THEN…….all the golf.
Anyone playing this weekend around Austin? Or can get on UT or where in general is best to play. I’m up in granbury. And may drive down for a round this coming weekend. Thanks in advance
Hey all – going to be in Austin/San Antonio for the next 3 weeks during a cross-country road trip.
Play most of my golf during the week, so if there are any weekday golfers here who want to play a round, would love to join you.
Was planning to get out to Forest Creek, Lions, Brackenridge, Grey Rock?, and The Quarry, but if there’s any must plays you’d reccomend, I’m all ears.
Hoping we can get out together!
Grey Rock is in incredible shape right now, highly recommended.
Appreciate the tip, probably get out there tomorrow or Friday AM.
I wish I could get out of the office during the week but that seems unlikely. Brackenridge and the Quarry are definitely two courses I’d say you can’t miss in San Antonio.
How did Forest Creek make the cut? Not bad. But not great.
Wolfdancer is something to add. But they changed owners recently and course may be in rough shape.
I’d add Butler Pitch N Putt to be followed by Barton Springs for a little local flavor.
Would recommend adding Falconhead to the list if you can
I’m not 100% sure, I made a list a ways back for each stop on our road trip and that was in the list, will probably skip it then, appreciate the heads up.
When it comes to Wolfdancer, I just struggle to pay $120+ for solo rounds. Don’t know who you’ll get paired with, nobody to really discuss the round with, etc. Just doesn’t always seem worth it, unless it’s an absolute bucket list course.
But will be hitting Butler Pitch n Putt with the girlfriend one of these nights.
That is fair.
I would pay $85 for Wolfdancer (get first twilight rate), assuming it is in good shape. BC is fine but value/price is not great.
Neither are a bucket list.
The only thing bucketlist-ish (besides Lions) is the front nine at ACC. That is Pete Dye magic. The back 9 is hard and not fun.
$140 to $85 might be the largest twilight discount I’ve ever seen. That makes it doable.
If I get on at ACC and there is an extra spot, you’ll be my first invite. Appreciate the advice.
I always enjoyed Hancock. It’s just 9 holes, but if you’re short on time and want to squeeze some golf in it is pretty solid. Haven’t played it in a couple of years so someone can update on if it is in good shape.
This isn’t the worst point in the annual cycle of Hancock course conditions, but it’s definitely not the best.
Just driving by, the greens appear to have some sandy patches.
What’s up people. I’m looking to play in San Antonio Friday (10/15), if anyone is interested. I land around 11am. 12 hcp, easy going, any course, no set plan.
I’m in town for a conference for a few days.
Im just going to throw this out there. If i have 10 rounds to play between Muny and Mo Willy, Mo Willy wins 8/2.
Anybody plying in Austin / San Antonio on Saturday with an open spot? I’m looking to get out of the hill country for a day.
I’m genuinely curious, why is this?
Because he’s a contrarian.
Shut it.
