Piggy backing on the LuLu topic, I’m currently on the LuLu waitlist and have been on it since the end of April. Recently got told I am one of the next 10 to be entered but they don’t know when they’ll be getting me in yet. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s around Labor Day. I don’t think the waitlist is that long because apparently they get a lot of player turnover (allegedly because the membership is pretty young and ends up moving around) but yeah, if it’s of interest it’s best to get on the list ASAP.
Yeah I actually played with someone today who joined last month and was only on the waitlist for 3 months! Definitely shorter than I thought!
Hope you enjoyed it, definitely a fun track
Let me know next time you’re getting out!
Hello Philly friends!
I wanted to put this here in case anyone’s interested in joining us. We’ve got spots available, and as many of you probably know, Trenton Country Club is a true gem of a golf course. Come meet and hang with some NY Roost fellas

From South Philly, check out Running Deer, White Clay, Deerfield and Deerwood which are all semi-private.
There are a lot of public tracks in PA, NJ and DE. South Philly puts you in position to get to MD and DE quickly, or courses such as Wyncote, Pilgrim’s Oak and Inniscrone, even Paxon Hollow and Glen Mills, relatively quickly during non rush hour times. Riverwinds in NJ, then a ton of South jersey courses such as Wedgwood, Westwood, Ramblewood and Rancocas are pretty close.
I usually love your take on courses, but you need to remove Inniscrone from any and all future recommendations. F that course. Tagging @ChickPhilA and anyone else from the EP crew.
Why, did something happen or just don’t like the course?
Multiple reasons, but the two most egregious:
On the 11th hole, a par 3, they have what is now a 20ft tall “sapling” growing directly in front of the tee box. It’s been there for years, and literally impedes any non-draw into the green. I wish I had a photo, but it’s seriously 10 feet in front of the box. I don’t see how anyone who’s ever played the game before can set up tee markers behind it, but they do just that.
Then, from the ladies standpoint, multiple tee boxes are in the rough, blocked out by trees, with zero regard for who is playing from there. It’s beyond ignorance, it’s just downright insulting.
On one hand, kudos to the township for trying to save it from development, but it seems like whoever’s been in charge there for the past few years has literally never played the game before.
Wait this sounds insane
how long is the 11th hole?
160-ish from the offending tee box
Such a shame because it’s Gil Hanse’s first solo design and has potential. My experience with it was always a lack of any real care whatsoever at worst and extremely misguided care at best.
It dropped off once I stopped working there! ![]()

Would love some help on restaurant recs in the Philly, Newark (yeah I know it’s not philly) area
What kind of food?
Throw em out
I am down for just about anything.
I am sure my wife would love some real seafood
Here goes (in no particular order):
For seafood: Little fish is one of my favorite spots in the city (small byob, wine and liquor store 2 blocks away).
Suraya - really good Lebanese food
Fiorella - great handmade pasta and laidback vibe (small place)
Goldie - more so for lunch, but incredible falafel spot
Royal izakaya - great sushi and small plates. No reservations, but you can get drinks nearby while you wait.
Sabrina’s for brunch.
There’s an incredible amount of great food in the city and it’s almost hard to have a bad meal. If none of those sound good, I can give more recs.
The plan is to make some suggestions to the wife and if she don’t like em she can pick ![]()
But that’s a great start! Thanks!
Amá is an upscale Mexican restaurant in Fishtown. Top 3 continental meals I’ve ever had. Sit at the bar with your wife. Let the bartender make recommendations. Service is shitty so you won’t feel tempted to pull out your phone. Trust me.
Edit: also agree with all the above if this doesn’t sound like your vibe
+1 on Fiorella. Place is awesome.
