I think Scotland Run in NJ just went private this year and I believe it’s very affordable. It’s not super close to the city though.

I know a guy at Bala that I can inquire about the waitlist and cost with. I’d look at Lulu CC too, it’s a pretty cool Ross that skews to the more affordable side. I think the waitlist might be long though, so I’d try to get on a list as soon as you figure things out.

I don’t play a lot of public golf, but Jeffersonville is great and I’m sure still tough to get a time at.

@MikeRevak can get you setup in our slack. Thats where most of the discussion takes place. We have some guys in that area that can tell you more about the private clubs in the area.

I live in South Philly and could give you a ton of food, parking, etc recs if you need/want them.

Ooh slack has always been a black box to me as someone who is stuck with Microsoft office based employers. Another new and exciting part of this next phase in our life.

Hi all - been saying I’d get on to the refuge for years and never had, until now. I’m pretty sure I signed up for our roost too and looking forward to being a part of it.

I’m from south jersey, was a Running Deer member for a few years, stopped playing regularly for a year or so, and finally getting the itch again after having our first child. Playing terrible at the moment but heading out to WA and playing Chambers Bay next month so I’m trying to get my game in shape.

Pumped to be a part of the Philly community!

Welcome to the neighborhood (almost)! South Philly rocks. Bought a house in November and will hopefully never leave. Jeffersonville is elite, but the courses on the NJ side might be easier to get to. I’m a member at Lulu which will fall under the more affordable private options, but as previously mentioned there is a huge waitlist so I would reach out and hop on now if you are at all interested (happy to host sometime as well, though my schedule has been pretty chaotic this year).

Hell yeah, welcome to both @NealJacko44 and @AntNigro - Slack is 100% more active for us compared to some of the threads on here, but we still monitor them in case we get some interest.

We get all of our events run through Unknown Golf and it works pretty seamlessly. We’ve got a great crew here, so neither of you should have any trouble finding playing partners once you’re ready to get rolling. Oh, and we still have spots available in the Steeplechase on July 19th, that functions as our Roost Major! Give me a shout if you have any questions!
