PGA 2K25 Refuge Tour - Info in post 152 - S25 starts 3/23/2025

Ha. I thought I was actually good at this game until I adjusted my settings to what the standard is going to be. Sweet reality check

Pinehurst pin high putts are scary af

The Pinehurst greens in this game are so good. Have to be dialed in to hold any of them with more than a 9 iron (which is a great thing)

I played it before opening the Pick shot or the spinner. Imagine it might play a little easier with those, but it’s really hard. I thought it was hard in the last game. Another level in this one.

I’ve lost sleep thinking I have to play them in real life in a couple weeks

Thai spinner makes the chip shots pretty easy, I just struggle with the 5 footers that break a shitload.

I have yet to figure out how to optimally use the thai spinner. Sometimes it rolls out and sometimes it checks exactly how I want it to

I tend to put it about half way to my target. If it hits into an uphill, should be pin high, if its down hill, I may back it up another yard or two.

Currently having way too much fun with the terrain painting (“real” bunkers are overrated) Going to try and publish this one in the next few weeks.

So what is everyone rocking as their main archetype. I got my magician to 99 and have everyone else to 85 and unlocked the special shots for each one.

With it being Double XP until March 7th I figured I’d play another archetype in career

Debating between sculptor and greens keeper

Technician for me, with the green reader unlocked. I think among the community as a whole, technician, sculptor, and magician are regarded as the best ones

I did the power dude because (virtual) chicks dig the long ball. I made a mistake that I will not rectify.

Exact same here. Hoping to unlock the power drive this week with double XP and add that in to give me some more distance off the tee.

Out of curiosity I did do the math on leveling up a sculptor, but I liked my stats as a technician better. I did get shaping to 80 and I found that was plenty to give me the ability to hit fades as a draw bias without changing the swing path. I’m sure if you get it to 99 it’s even more, but it was good enough for me. I got my swing path and contact really strong, and still hit it plenty long enough with driver fittings.

I have to say, I love that there is legitimate debate on which archetype to use now. With 2K23, my tech could hit 320 carry no problem by cranking the driver loft up, so it really didn’t matter. There is enough give and take that it does make a difference worth considering.

I forgot they had an Aug*sta take on the MyCareer calendar. Lone Grove is great, if we’re looking for courses while some of the best ones get ported over that would be up there for me among the built in ones

I’m sure there will be a proper version of ANGC made public in the lead up to the Masters, I’ll keep an eye out for it. My plan is to have it for our Refuge event that week.

I think I went sculptor, but have some time to play around with it as well.

I really hope the Pine Valley Clementon comes back. Was an absolutely stunning rendition of Pine Valley on 23
