PGA 2K25 Refuge Tour - Info in post 152 - S25 starts 3/23/2025

Meanwhile I’ve unlocked three different Titleist drivers already (TS3, TSi3, GT4). I blame NLU

Even that I don’t really understand. Seems like they pulled a random model out of a hat from each generation

Lucky for you, sculptor is widely regarded as potentially the best archetype for end game.

Yeah Sculptor gets Callaway Wedges :frowning:

Hurray

Leveling up is going to take a hot minute too. I’m 4 tourneys in and I’m still only at 68 ovrl.

Just shot +2 at Pinehurst with a 9 on #7. A true “if it hits hill” situation with a fairways bunker lip. 3 times

Can you sub out courses in career?

Are there are lot of LIDAR courses up and running, or are they all being redone?

It’s insane how big of a jump it is from Pro to Master. I’m hitting 5 degree pulls in the Pinehurst event that are going like three yards offline, in MyCareer on master I feel like it misses by 15 yards minimum

Yes some courses can be swapped and all of the lidar courses currently aren’t working - the game freezes when trying to load them

I’m going to bump up to pro-am…I think I shot like -24 in the Pinehurst event.

That’s the best way to learn, start with perfect swing or similar just to get a feel for what you need to do, then ramp up towards Pro. That way the game is still enjoyable and you can still hit good shots while learning the new swing system. Even on Perfect Swing, as far as I know it will tell you if you missed it so you can still see what needs correcting.

TOUR INFORMATION

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Welcome new and returning players, this will be the information post for our first season on 2K25, and 25th overall dating back through TGC. The new season is scheduled to begin on 3/23/2025 with a qualifying event, followed by a regular 10 week season.

__

Right at the top here, I want to provide some resources for players still learning the 2K25 swing and systems.

  • Consumable golf balls are not allowed for Refuge Tour events. I recommend getting used to the stock golf ball and not spending VC on golf balls, if you intend to spend most of your time playing online/societies.
  • We WILL be using Swing Bias in our society, along with Pro swing difficulty. Full settings are in the spreadsheet for reference.
  • I recommend practicing the new swing by using the Perfect Swing setting in the game, then play career rounds. Tweak other settings as you see fit to get your XP multiplier. You will still be able to see the swing feedback meter to see how close you are, but can do so without worrying about the misses.
  • Swing stick only, no 3 click.
  • For those getting started or trying to level up players, go to the quests and check to see if you’ve completed the quest series called Onboarding. Complete those and it unlocks a lot more quests that will earn you a slew of VC, fittings, etc. If this isn’t on your Quest menu, it means you’ve completed them.

Below is the Season 25 spreadsheet, if you intend to play please sign up by adding your Refuge handle to the Flight Status-Player List tab. We will have a qualifying event to get everyone sorted into flights, keep reading for info below.

General Information:

  • Tournaments are completed in the game society called NLU Refuge Tour. The society is cross-platform, so Playstation, Xbox, and PC are all included.
    image

  • Please post your scores in the appropriate tab for each tournament, in the correct flight.

  • If your Refuge username doesn’t appear in the drop down list check that it is entered on the flight status tab and that you have completed qualifying (if there is still a problem shoot Jeff_M a message)

  • All rounds should be played in the society tournaments unless otherwise stated.

  • Battlefield flight promotion after 3 wins is in effect through the whole season. A battlefield promo will start T1 on points in the new flight.

  • Events run Tuesday to Sunday, Mondays are maintenance days for flighting new players and to update season points. See the Schedule tab in the spreadsheet for the full season schedule with dates for each event.

  • Tie breakers for 1st place in each flight are (in order): Final round score, penultimate round score.

  • The Butt Cup at the end of the regular season is a full field event which is handicapped based on season performance.

  • In order to qualify for the Butt Cup, you must have posted a minimum of 24 individual round scores. This requirement is to meet the minimum number of rounds to calculate a representative handicap. So, even if you don’t finish an event, it is in your best interest to post scores from any rounds you did complete. The Commissioner has the right to push through any players who are close to the 24 round threshold but haven’t met it.

  • Flights will reshuffle at the conclusion of the season based on the season-long strokes gained metric. Qualification for the Butt Cup is the threshold to be eligible for the reshuffle, otherwise you will remain in the same flight.

  • Regular season points winners from each of the lower flights earns an automatic promotion to the next flight for the next season.

Prizes for the podium places of the Butt Cup are custom stamped ballmarkers courtesy of @Jeff_M. This is a very low stakes thing, let’s just have some fun.

*Note: The Commissioner (Jeff_M) is not eligible for prizes. If he places on the podium of the Butt Cup, the prize will be pushed to the next eligible player.

Tour Player Rules:

  • No chipping on greens unless your path to the hole is impeded by rough, sand, etc. or you are further away than the max putter distance.
  • If you do not post a score in the spreadsheet for an event, it will be deemed a DNF.
  • Use your best judgement and don’t be a scumbag.

New players joining mid-season:

  • Qualifying is open through the season, sign up by adding your name to the Flight Status - Player List tab in the spreadsheet. The current event will serve as your qualifying.
  • First, find the society in game called NLU Refuge Tour.
  • Take note of the difficulty settings so you know what to expect. You can find this info on the Difficulty Settings tab in the spreadsheet
  • Take note of the Rules, you can also find a tab for this in the spreadsheet
  • Play the current event and post your scores as a Qualifier to the appropriate event tab.
you will be flighted depending on your finishing position in the event.
Last note here, the in game society events run on GMT, they start at midnight GMT and end at 1am GMT. Just pay attention to this and the dates on the Schedule to ensure you don’t miss playing an event.

A quick note about the S25 spreadsheet, still work in progress. Go ahead and sign up, but just know I am busy building things to fit the calendar and also to line up our major events with the real pro golf calendar, including the Masters, and the men’s and women’s US Opens that will fall during this season on 2K. This involves data testing and editing formulas, so you may notice the points tables and event pages changing from time to time. They will be reset and ready to go for 3/23.

Also, addressing the reasons for waiting until 3/23 to start.

  • Currently, it does take time to level up a character in game. I want to give players time to get into it and level up a bit.
  • This allows time for 2K/HB Studios to work on whatever patches and bug fixes they are going to be releasing shortly after launch.
  • This allows time for the course designers to create and import quality golf courses for us to play.

What is the vibration issue? I seem to be having too many/weird vibrations and random point in the swing.

Just got game yesterday so trying to figure everything out.

I believe that was the fix for those who weren’t getting any controller vibration at all, even when the setting was turned on in game.

I bet your game settings have the vibration set to just ON, try changing that to Transition Only. I think if it’s ON, it vibrates when you are going off of the swing path as well.

Now I am trying to find where to do this…can’t find that either.

Start menu > Settings > Difficulty

It being under difficulty is something

So much better

It because of the swing bias. The “random times” you were feeling in the back swing was the game telling you were pulling back at the wrong angle. Having it set for transition only means it only vibrates when you are hitting the top of your back swing.
