PGA 2K25 Refuge Tour - Info in post 152 - S25 starts 3/23/2025

I think Sculptor is a short term pain long term gain situation. Objectively harder to start out but I’ve got mine up to 87 and fairly balanced now, the putting ratings don’t really bother me. As more clubs and fittings become available should be as good as anything

Don’t do what I did and play Quail Hollow with fast greens in my career. All the other tour courses are fine, this one is not. I have heard that East Lake is also a bit much with the greens sped up.

That fucking sucks. Congrats though

In pga 2k23 after I’d won the fedex cup a couple times, I decided to turn up conditions to the max: very firm fairways / greens, very fast greens and very high winds.

Long story short, I played 3 seasons and never won the FedEx cup, because I would play an entire season just to get to east lake and there’s one green that is so bad that you can’t hold it - you have to chip it in, and while I could do it once or twice, I never could get (4) rounds of chip-ins. So I’d have to take an 11 or 12 and I couldn’t overcome it with enough birdies and would lose the FedEx cup. And of course the cpu’s wouldn’t actually “play” the conditions - it’s just an algorithm that identifies their score.

So ya, don’t turn up the green speed on east lake  What a stupidly masochistic thing to do…

What should the HIO prize be for this season? In the past James May was giving out Dacia Sanderos, but he won’t answer my emails now.

Gotta be a screenshot of your my player badly photoshopped on the hole in question with some hilarious looking word art to commemorate.

for the sickos who like these sort of things…

Himo Texas Wedge has been published. It’s a 9 hole course of 1800ish yard holes. Tap a putter off the tee and then you can hit a Texas Wedge down the mountain for your 2nd shot.

Screenshot of your longest Texas Wedge or it didnt happen. I expect somebody will break 1400 yards in short order…

How are we feeling with the test events? Still want to do every 2 days or move to 3 or 4? I’m looking at courses to set up some more

Had a sick day yesterday so finally got to play more than an hour at a time.

The steep learning curve became much easier once I slowed my swing down. I’m still getting confused by shots that look to have the same path and contact points ending up on different planets though. Think our divisions are going to see some shake up and larger gaps from first to last

One thing to watch out for, in my career if you do the pre-tourney events you can get bonuses added to your stats. This can and does make career easier than playing online or societies with your non-boosted player.

Yup. I realized that shortly after launch and now just skip the pre tournament events unless it’s a sponsor bonus one for that exact reason.

Loving the course selection for today. Tight corridors and pinehurst like greens make for some fun shot making. Just hit a driver stinger to the middle of the green on #6 and drained a 34footer for Eagle

8 Gig update comin’.

I did that and it’s the same problem East Lake had in 2k23 the greens have way too much slope on them to even stop a 5 footer.
