Anybody progress pretty far into the game and figure out what the best archetype is? I have a low level technician but want to see if I should do a different one before getting too deep
Tech is one of the more recommended ones, the pick shot is the best one in the game. My advise is to level up the tech to 90 first, unlock rebirth, then you can see how the other stack up. Shaper is also highly recommended due to very high shot shaping ability.
Iām sticking with my tech, I got shaping up to 80 and itās good enough to hit nice fades without moving from my draw bias swing. Fittings got my driver power up enough that I can still carry 285 which is plenty for just about every course right now.
All, donāt forget weāre less than a week out from qualifying for this season of the Tour. The qualifying course and settings are published in the sheet for those who wish to practice. Iām going to end the āseasonā in the society after the last test/practice event, then turn it over to a fresh season for quali and the regular season events.
With the game still being really new, Iām going to schedule out the first half of the season and then hold off on a few events for whatever good new courses come along. Currently holding on the tourney for the week of 4/14, donāt know if weāll get a really solid RCR but Iām kind of hoping for a port of something like Fruitland Farms.
Yes, it is absolutely maddening. The worst part of it is that it severely penalizes you by taking away ranking points that, to my eye, equates to multiple losses. Makes ranking up incredibly frustrating.
Iāve submitted a case to 2K support and they told me thereās no way to restore those ranking points.
My biggest complaint so far with ranked, whether is be Solo or Duo Alt Shot, is the current bracketing of players and the points for winning or losing, makes it really hard to climb without just sinking a ton of hours and hope you get paired with someone higher, and beat them.
I guess itās time for me to buy this game now and deep dive into the last ~200 posts.
Pick is so good, really wish you were able to hit it anywhere greenside rather than just out of greenside bunkers.
Yup, I went on a win streak a couple of days ago, getting up to Birdie and then had 3 disconnects in a row to drop back down to par.
Flop / Super Flop are even better!
Iāve ported my 2k23 course, Alder Branch National, to 2k25
- Course completely replanted
- General softening around green most complexes
- Every bunker re-shaped/sized/sculpted #ScalingIssues
- Partial redesign of a few holes (5, and 13 most notably
I donāt have any idea what Iām doing, but did buy the game. Sounds like I need to figure out some stuff for S25 in the next 72 hours
There is a learning curve even if you are familiar with 2k23, see the info post for some helpful resources and if you need help with anything post here and Iām sure someone will be able to help out
Lol itās been since like 2k21 since I played 2k for PGA games. Played a little of road to the masters but yea steep learning curve
welcome back to it then! Once you get the hang of how the player leveling and skills work, the swing becomes easier. Itās easily the best golf game to date
Yeah biggest gripe is the Masters being difficult as always, but have recognized the only way to get them in is by buying it now. Like the 2 year release cycle too, hopefully it gets enough interest to stick
EA has all but abandoned their game and as far as I know donāt have any devs working on it or any new golf games. In fact, some devs who worked on EAās game went to HB Studios to work on the 2k series. Who knows how long the exclusive deal is with ANGC and EA, but my hope is the suits at ANGC see the success here and a path for them to be in the game officially opens up.
The EA career mode still wins, 2k has the ground work in place but it needs little things here and there to shine. Ball/ground physics in 2k is better, the course designer and online play will keep this game going for a long time
Once/if 2k can get the masters, their story will be fantastic. Gaining the other majors this year is an awesome step forward. Iām very bullish on it, but hereās to hoping the Masters follow suits and that it stays strong. But itās going to be a game you can play for multiple years with great fun. The course designs/features are really second to none. Excited to get my ass kicked while I figure it out
TGC Tours has has API access finally (kinda shocked it took this long Idk what the process is). So they are pretty close to finalizing their difficulty settings.
Andrew Waterman is ready to begin his journey back to the Pro tours after only a brief stint on Kinetic in 2k23 before relegating back to the depths of the CC league
Iām ready to absolutely not get my tour card on the first or second or third try
those who canāt play, design, I guess.
