PGA 2K25 Refuge Tour - Info in post 152 - S25 starts 3/23/2025

I’m still trying to get through q school on refuge tour settings, I’m seeing sawgrass in my sleep at this point

It’s tough to jump in with those settings. My recommendation would be to use perfect swing to progress the career and get some XP and VC, and gauge when your are close enough on the swing feedback meter to make the jump. Attribute points, skill points, and club fittings do make a big difference.

You can put it on pro am and still turn on the swing bias manually to get used to that, but still have the pro am forgiveness while you get used to the swing.

I need to dive into settings tonight and make some changes so I can see what the feedback meter is all about.

I do love my perfect swing and shooting -22 under.

There is something really fun about putting it on perfect swing and just mindlessly blowing the doors of a course while watching tv/youtube in the second screen.

Absolutely

I just need the extra practice because I sucked something awful at the end of the last game

I need to stop doing the pro am weekly and dailies, so bad for my swing when trying to play on master. But I’m such a sucker for cosmetic ranked grinds lol

Hahahaha…I get that.

I haven’t even messed with that stuff…trying to get my guy to 90 and I’m sitting at 79. Have used no club enhancement tokens either

The “Swing feedback” is just this meter in the lower right, it shows the 4 swing points. Now, on perfect swing, no matter what you do it’ll be 4 perfects, as I understand it. But, the meter still shows where your swing was actually at, so you can practice getting close to actual perfects while still being able to breeze through the game progression

I misspoke earlier, it’s more about my lack of swing difficulty at this point. I need to adjust that. I get a lot of pull to pull swings if ever so slightly. Also enjoy the pull back swing to perfect trasnition and contact.

I think I am close and I definitely like this feedback system over the Too Fast and Too Slow where you have zero clue what you did to deserve it.

There is a version of a certain course in game, A National Golf Club (L). It’s a bit rough around the edges but the bones are there.

Ranked is 90% of my playtime on these games. I’m struggling to enjoy solo tour play so I’m leveling up so slow which is frustrating.

Also, buying cosmetics being the same currency as leveling up is insanely stupid

I played most rounds at the start of the solo career, but after a while can get really repetitive and grindy. I’m now doing the interactive sim for most rounds to just level up sponsors to unlock stuff I want, and complete career quests, it’s a lot of menu surfing at this point. After I get all the stuff I want that will probably be it for career unless other quests show up I want to finish.

I’m looking forward to TGCT kicking off, as well as our tour. Once I have my stuff unlocked and completed I’ll probably move over and play a couple ranked matches each time I fire it up, slowly work my way up.

Planning on putting a purse on the first event of the season to try to give out some VC, I’m not sure what happened when I tested it before but the VC stayed in the society bank it seems. Maybe it was too low an amount to pay out.

Taking a poll here to gauge the feeling about society tourney purses, since VC is now at much more of a premium in this game. I can contribute up to 5000VC as bonus purse to be paid out which I will do for the first event, and then again for the Riddler’s Springtime Extravaganza. Beyond that will just depend on how much I have in game. What is the feeling on a 10 VC entry fee to help subsidize a couple purse events per season?

EDIT here:I’ve actually just looked in the settings and it does actually allow me to designate how much of the buy in goes to the purse. So this plan would be for a 10VC buy in for every event, and do payouts for a couple events per season. The other events, that buy in would contribute to the society bank to fund the larger purses.

Note, there is no personal gain here aside from whatever I may earn in winnings for tournaments. Admins/owners cannot withdraw funds from the society bank, and it can only be used for tournament purses.

  • 10 VC entry fee is fair
  • Could up it to 15 VC
  • No entry fees at all

I don’t play for money. I just play for the chicks.

Couple designated events per season for entree fees and payouts if people are 50/50 on this?

Yeah, I should have phrased it differently in my question. I think if you force a buy in, it auto-pays that out in a purse. I think that’s how it works. So perhaps only buy in for the tourneys that we designate for a purse, and it’ll just help subsidize my contribution. I was lucky enough to level up during early access so just trying to pay it forward a bit for those who came in on the standard launch.

EDIT: I’ve actually just looked in the settings and it does actually allow me to designate how much of the buy in goes to the purse. We could do a 10VC buy in for every event, and do payouts for a couple events per season. The other events, that buy in would contribute to the society bank to fund the larger purses. If most of the players feel that is unfair to pay in for events where there isn’t a purse, we won’t do it that way.

I decided to give ranked matches a go, anyone else running into the disconnect issue where you get booted mid-match? Had that a few times

For those getting started or trying to level up players, go to the quests and check to see if you’ve completed the quest series called Onboarding. Complete those and it unlocks a lot more quests that will earn you a slew of VC, fittings, etc

If this isn’t on your Quest menu, it means you’ve completed them.
