Just a random factoid.
This video was shot in 1994 at Agnews Development Center in Santa Clara CA. A psychiatric facility.
After the facility was shut down a few years later, it was bought by Sun Microsystems and became their corporate headquarters. Sun was later bought by Oracle.
Fun fact. The main clocktower building shown here is mainly executive offices and customer briefing areas, but those in the know can reserve a hidden conference room up in the tower. Itās where I usually spend my time when Iām onsite.
I think someone linked Still Woozy earlier They are putting out the vibe Iām looking for this spring
Iām just here to shower praise on this song. Modern classic
Just a random comment on music:
I went down a pretty big 1960s wormhole earlier today, as I tend to occasionally do.
I absolutely love California Dreaminā by the Mamas and the Papas
Itās hard to wrap my head around just how awful everyone was to Cass Eliott (including her band mates), even in death
My maaannn. Huge fuckinā fan. Think Iāve even posted it in here, in fact.
Marc Rebillet wound up in my feed last night after he dropped a new video after a few months off. The guy is a madman, supremely talented pianist who does his own funky/electro/loop fusion with impromptu lyrics.
Personal favorite
Inspired by @anon3021505 not being a fan of the Wireās theme song - donāt blame him at all - I remembered what I was supposed to put in here for āworst songā that I forgot about at the time.
Anything by Queen. They are not good. Theyāre just The Darkness with moustaches.
What a time to be alive!
How am I getting torched for a ātakeā about a terrible theme song to an ancient tv show, but this is out in the wild?! This is a flamethrower. Hahahahaha.
Iāll agree that songs like Bohemian Rhapsody or Fat Bottomed Girls might get a tad overplayed, and if thatās your only Queen exposure it could color your perception.
But then you have stuff like this.

And all is right again in the world.
I will say that growing up my Dad was very much not a fan of Queen so he wouldnāt play them ever, so I didnāt have a tonne of exposure. That being said, as they are one of the most famous bands to come from England, they are played way too often - songs like We Are The Champions was always trotted out at cup finals or minor sporting events, for example. I can appreciate the cultural significance of Freddie Mercury whilst also hating his music, I think.
how did I almost miss worst song? brb Iām gathering up some sources
Hell yeah. Love this version too.
unforgivable
this song was written by an algorithm that listened to all that you canāt leave behind too many times and I think it broke the bandās spirit.
Searched this thread and didnāt find any mention of Mandolin Orange. I donāt listen to folk/country often, but they still might be my favorite band of all time. The lyrics might be a little āwokeā in Wildfire, but I think theyāre still true and paint some context on people that still support what the confederacy stood for.
Golden Embers was written by the singer Andrew about his mother passing from cancer. Every now and then I catch this song in the mood where I need to find the nearest tissue box.
