What is the difference between a Rock band and a Rock N’ Roll band? Is it an easy distinction?
Hardest of agrees. Also shoutout AC/DC - not the greatest but underrated in this discussion.
I listened to Nightmare Logic for the first time today and really liked it. Who can say? I love melodeath but have never gotten into At The Gates, which sounds like a similar puzzler.
New Big Thief that released today is fantastic. I can’t think of a band in the last decade with a 5 album run as unbelievably good as theirs. Absolutely no low spots.
UFOF and Two Hands feel like they just came out. Impressive string and output over just under 6 years
We were talking about bands from our youth that were “local” or smaller and how it can be hard to find the songs again if you lost them.
I went to high school with a few of the guys in this band. I always loved the gang vocals. Still gives me goose bumps.
this might be defined as “heavier” music for some, but not for others

May 27th: Vaxis II: A Window of the Waking Mind
- The Embers of Fire
- Beautiful Losers
- Comatose
- Shoulders
- A Disappearing Act
- Love Murder One
- Blood
- The Liars Club
- Bad Man
- Our Love
- Ladders of Supremacy
- Rise, Naianasha (Cut the Cord)
- Window of the Waking Mind
Shoulders and Rise Nainasha are fairly straightforward/poppy, so I hope the deep cuts get a little proggy-froggy.
I am literally too excited
Also listening to Second Stage Turbine Blade right now
DOJA MADE A ROCK COVER
I was just listening to a Spotify ‘Rock Covers’ playlist and this came up.
Freaky.
Not exactly the genre I’d expect to see a ton of interest in on a golf message board but Alt-J (Δ)'s new album kind of slaps. It’s very different from their last hard American alt album Relaxer and it’s really a return to a sound more like An Awesome Wave, British choirboy that smokes fat blunts. <3
Donny Benet alert.
Dropped a single from an album that will drop April 1st.
instrumentally funky on this one.
Catching him live in a month, and I could not be more excited.
Okay @anon3021505 has to like this one
You got me on that one.
I would count Tears for Fears’ “The Hurting” among my favourite albums. They’ve got a new album and three of the songs (“Tipping Point”, “No Small Thing” and “Break the Man”) are on YouTube. After a first listen, Break the Man is the most accessible, but I like the others too.
@MrChickPhilA might have undersold the album, has been on repeat in our house all week. I am probably a complete idiot but it sounds like Spoon produced by 2007 era Black Keys. So, so, so good.
My favorite so far is Wild, which makes sense as I am a huge Bleachers fan and I see it was done in collaboration with Jack Antonoff
The Hardest Cut also slaps
Seriously everyone should go listen as soon as possible.
Happy 20th birthday to one of my most favorite albums.
