Totally makes sense, I feel good about the routine thus far. Ultimately my last round of bloodwork at the end of 2024 was the wake up call. Basically my primary care said you either make drastic changes or you’re going to die in your sleep.
I’ve been thinking about doing this as well. Probably coffee and water.
Better than screaming and crying like the passengers in my car
On paper it makes sense to me and in terms of “shrinking your stomach” etc it seems worth it. My co workers brother was part of study and had to do it for 2 weeks. He lost a ton of weight feels great but now he struggles trying to even eat 1500 calories. Just isn’t hungry all the time anymore, doesn’t feel attracted to food at all.
On the other hand I know myself and it would be so hard for me. Kind of want to try starting Monday though lol
I was going to do 72 hours to start and see how I feel. I’d be down to start Monday with you.
Hell yeah! Let’s do it!
And yes 72 hours sounds good. I’m not trying for two weeks lol
We’ve got a 2 day golf event next weekend. Just gotta be realistic haha
I’ve got a pinehurst trip in 10 days. Need to get lean and mean to shoot that 100 on no 2. Lmao
It’s also eye opening how much less “cloudy” my brain is when I’m not eating fast food daily (outside of that egg white sandwich at chick fil a most mornings).
It’s almost like those huge burgers are terrible for you.
Apologies, I ended up starting my fast today. Feeling really good. Had a rough stretch really craving something this afternoon but overall I feel great. I’ve quickly learned that I do not drink near enough water on a daily basis.
I got back under 270 for the first time in about a year last week, and then immediately went on vacation. I never try to eat healthy on vacation, that’s part of the joy of a vacation lol so I fully expect some regression, but we’re back at it tomorrow
No worries! I decided to after breakfast so I’m rolling on with nothing since 9. I don’t feel “hungry”. Mentally I want to eat.
I’m already picturing the little victory of waking up and being so close to 24 hours and then I feel like well have momentum
Woke up ready to run through a wall. @brandonmanson playlist helps too. So far an hr into the day and I don’t even feel hungry. Closing in on 24 hrs and 1/3 through. LFG
This is just my experience with Semaglutide from planning my regimen with my physician. Maybe it can benefit others.
- Rotate injection sites. I rotate between four different locations. It helps with efficacy.
- Drink lots of water. I drink at least 64 ounces a day.
- Eat a heavy protein diet. My doctor wants me at or above 100g per day.
- Walk, a lot.
- Chart nutritional intake daily. I use the FitBit app.
I’ve lost right at 50 pounds since late July. No cravings, no hunger, no issues. I’m having to force myself to reach 1,200 calories a day.
For breakfast yesterday, I had two cups of coffee with light cream and sugar. For lunch, I had half a turkey reuben. For dinner, I had three thin sliced pork chops and a very small baked potato (1 tbs of butter, 1/8 cup shredded cheddar cheese). Total caloric intake for the day was 1,097.
I also walked 7.63 miles (18-holes) chasing my golf ball yesterday.
@GeneralQuinn how are we doing? Made it through the work day with actually minor issues. My head does feel funny and I’m pounding water.
Going to hit balls/and or play 9 and feel like I have all the energy I could need. Getting to bed will be a victory and looking forward to hitting the 48hr mark when I wake up.
I tried semaglitude last spring and it did not work for me at all. It felt like my body was being poisoned… headaches, stomach pain, etc. Felt like I had a bad flu. So I stopped it after about two months, but in the past year I’ve only been able to maintain my weight (up 3 pounds roughly).
I’m so frustrated and tired of being overweight and how it impacts my life, but I’m not sure what I can do at this point. I’ve been trying noom (which I think is keeping me steady which is kind of a win), I’ve been upping activity. But I haven’t gone totally intense of working out 5 times a week or being on a strict diet. I guess that’s the next thing to try? Or should I try semaglitude again and hope my body reacts differently? I know it works for so many people.
We’re doing pretty well. Echo the fuzzy headed feeling but haven’t had as much craving as I thought I would’ve. Had a little range session this morning and just wrapped up an afternoon walk. For sure looking forward to bed tonight.
Damn - I’m not on any of the inhibitors and I’m also just over the 50lb lost mark since late July but I’ve been on a pretty consistent 1800 calorie target the whole time.
Curious if you’ve been around the 1200 mark the whole time or if that has dropped from a higher mark?
I’m not sure. I only started tracking calories in January. Strictly a guess on my part, but I suspect building back muscle during that same time contributes. Chemo in 2021 and 2022 wiped my ass out. Then I rapidly gained fat around the midsection immediate following chemo.
Funny enough, I had a letter in the mail from my insurance today. They are only approving the Wegovy for one more 6-month cycle ending in August. After that, I guess I’m on my own so I need to commit this routine to habit.
That would make sense! Congrats on the loss - good luck on the long term goals. I lost ~100lbs from 2014-2016 but looking back it was due (in part) to unsustainable habits (including cutting too low on my calorie intake). I’m trying to focus on more sustainable goals this time including (like yourself) focusing on protein. That has done more than anything to keep me satiated.
