Zero points. Oatmeal is back to zero points too.
Is this a weight loss or bulking program? Only a tiny bit joking. You can eat unlimited potato and oatmeal on Weight Watchers or we talking about another program entirely?
It’s weight watchers and both those are zero point foods. They’re there, I’m probably still gonna avoid them.
If/when I have them I wouldn’t go crazy with them, but having oatmeal on the menu as a breakfast option is nice. That said I’ve got so many points because I’m so fat a few points for those would’ve been fine.
I started on MacroFactor this week and they have me started out at almost a 3k calorie target with a protein target of 219 grams… that seems like a lot. Anyone here have experience with that app?
Could be right depending on height/weight/activity but it seems high. Not knowing those for you I just put in a reference of 5’10 350lbs and sedentary into a tdee calculator and it had 3000 as the maintenance rate i.e keeping at a current weight
Yeah I have used it successfully twice, then quit both times out of shame when I started drinking again. No feeling quite like adding 10 ounces of tequila and seeing the alcohol calories skyrocket.
Overall I think it’s great. The starting estimates are usually pretty far off, but it adjusts fast every week based on what you weigh every day and what you enter. It’s gets really accurate really fast. I actually needed to add calories for the first 5 weeks or so, which was awesome.
In general, a gram per pound of target body mass of protein is a really good idea. Macro factor has you at a little above that when you get going if you chose the high protein option. It’s to help prevent muscle loss while dropping weight
Potatoes are one of the best foods you can eat. It’s the most satiating food there is.
It’s what I use. They have me at 2400 calories with 160g of protein but I usually aim for 2000 calories but hit that protein number.
Some nice air fried potatoes and some lean ground beef plus whatever veggies or hot sauces I have. Classic staple. Potatoes are even better for you if you cook them then cool them off, filled with resistant starches.
Definitely shocking how full you get from just that
I’d bought potatoes planning on eating them points be damned, but now it’s a no brainier. Rather eat potatoes than rice anyways.
I’m a slut for crispy roasted potatoes
Just discovered today that shredded frozen hashbrowns is 0 points too. My new breakfast is a pile of those, 2 eggs scrambled, 3 pieces of center cut bacon, and a sprinkle of low fat cheese all smashed into a bowl with your sauce of choice. No more than 5-6 points for a very large bowl of food
I saw those being back as well. I used to make has browns, two fried eggs and a bunch of pico de gallo and some light sour cream. Might be making a return. Was a 2 point meal at most.
It’s also wild that pork loin is 0 points. I’m having a bacon wrapped pork loin with roasted potatoes and carrots for dinner at 2 points. Feels fake lol
Like I said, it feels like a trap.
Finally starting to see results on the scale after several weeks of consistently eating better and working out a lot. Down 2 lbs in the last 2 days, but more importantly I am starting to see my clothes fit differently. I know it will still be at least a few weeks before others see any difference, but I love the momentum right now.
The clothes starting to fit different was a huge boost for me. Way more than the number on the scale.
Im into week 2 of strict adherence to Weight Watchers again and I finally saw the scale start creeping the right way, and as a whole just feel better knowing Im eating healthier and making better choices. Made sure to prep breakfast and lunch last night so I could bring them into work today and not get tempted with any bullshit.
Congrats man. Keep it up!!
I’ve been weighing in every day through the Noom program, but my family is doing family weigh ins once a week on Thursdays. So I’m treating Thursday as my review day to note my milestones.
After three weeks of gaining weight on my Thursday weigh in… today I weighed in down 5 pounds! So exciting to see some progress, especially after how down I was feeling about this entire process (that I shared with you all previously). And the better news is that the trend overall with daily weigh ins is downward.
Pumped that this thread is seeing some success so early in the year!! 2025 going to be a big year for us!!! (maybe not big… skinny* year lol)
Hell yes. Way to go guys!
