Catching up, I am in for this. I have been trying to lose weight since I stopped playing football, since no one was telling me to get smaller back then. I’m diligent about going to the gym 3 days week and I hit it hard when I am there… and then come home and eat like crap. Accountability to other people may be the best thing for me.

Rules (open to discussion)
- Must post starting weight photo. Must be standing on scale with proof of date. (Put an iPad next to it with today’s news or something).
- Must post similar photo of end weight on December 31st, 2019.
- Winner(s) will be determined by percentage of body weight lost (not total pounds lost).
- Contest will run from August 15, 2019 to December 31, 2019.
- Payouts TBD by number of entries we get.

Everyone throws in $5/monthly for the Aug 15 - Sep 15, then Sep 15 - Oct 15, etc… competition, then we establish some longer time window for the overall competition, say, 6 months? A year?

I think we should go with Illini’s idea. Everybody that makes a certain % gets their money. We split the rest the $ of those who don’t make it to the goal. If everyone makes it, we all toast each other and we are healthier for it and get our $50 back

It’s generally given as 1-2lbs per week. So that % is going to vary person to person.
Yea, I saw this number too, but 1-2 pounds per week for a person who weighs 150 is vastly different than for me at 250, and I wouldn’t believe for both of us it’s 1-2 pounds a week. Heck I vary that much within a day easily.
