still space!
It would be great to fill it out a further, the course tentatively blocked off more spots than we really planned for attendance

If I can tee off around 10ish Iām I can make!
That seems right in the window weāre shooting for, should be possible! Iāll see about pre-blocking our window with the course - weāre a little ways out but I bet theyāll work with me
also, to the greater community ā Signup & commit you yahoos! Weāre playing the NLU TS Famed Diamond Springs with Hickories (if you got em)!
I donāt know what more a bunch of self-proclaimed āgolf sickosā could ask for
All paid up! I present to the committee my clubs for review
Driver: Taylormade Stealth (no shots) - need all the technology off the tee to keep my in play
Woods: Titleist 980f 7 wood (one shot) - every since getting this during the winter blues in Chicago Iāve loved it
Irons: Mizuno MP32s (6-PW) and MP-30s (4-5) (one shot) - dipped my toe into the YOTB a few years back and this combo set has seen Diamond Springs before and loved it. CC @rmbartell
Putter: Wilson Arnold Palmer (2 shots) - a goodwill find after hitting up a simulator in the suburbs of Chicago then wanting to go play real golf but my putter was back in the city.
Hereās someone who gets the spirit of the event! Love it!!!
Iāve got the perfect setup for this event, not that it would help, but I just donāt know that I can make it work in the calendar!
This sounds like a super fun event, but as someone who plays both occasionally, I feel like thereās a big difference between playing my hickories and playing and my 1970s era Dynapowers, which really arenāt that different from the irons I play today. Though truth be told, since I havenāt changed my irons in like 15 years, Iād be getting a pop for just playing everyday gamers.
I mean, on the one hand itās part of the reason the event is juuust about as far from @RolandOfGilead as I can manage while keeping it in the contiguous USA. Donāt need too many old club experts killing my carefully developed algorithms (insert this-is-fine.jpg)
On the other hand, itās also a spirit of the event type thing. DS from the one-ups is only ~6000yds. Walk and carry a halfset. Play Persimmons and hickories. Get in touch with the spirit of the game - itās not all about birdies and what you shot! Some guys are 25 and have only seen wooden clubs in pictures, much less hit one. Some guys are 60 and remember growing up on them.
Not to get too dopey about it, but the scoring and winning is almost (probably?) secondary to the vibes and reuniting with ā¦something else.
Edit to add - that said, gamers such as the distinguised mr. @RolandOfGilead are indeed welcome to attend should they find themselves in the area, and we only ask that he returns the trophy next year for future winners to hold
Hitting a persimmon driver on the screws may be the best feeling you can experience swinging a club.
I have a few spare persimmon woods and usually try to hand them out to groups that donāt have one for them to try at some point during the round
the fact that itās split up into groups (woods/irons/putter) makes me really want to say fuck the 90ās 3/5w and just run with the persimmion I picked up at the top of the bag
Boys. I am in.*

Time to buy some old clubs
Any chance we can opt to walk? Diamond Springs was ment to be seen on foot
Absolutely should be an option (and honestly i would recommend it)

I think Iāve got a set of Ben Hogan directors series irons sitting around here somewhere.
Irons arenāt the issue have a set of 70s honmas
I shouldāve known better!
