I played Riv when I was 11.

Did you go for it on 10?

Canā€™t speak to Casa de Campo, but having watched a bunch of golf on tv from PGA West and having played Kiawah a few times, I can confidently put Sawgrass above both of those, and itā€™s not particularly close. While there are a few holes I think are weak (7,8,12) and the conditioning/agronomic choices they make arenā€™t my cup of tea, I think Sawgrass puts Kiawah in a body bag, all things equal. And if weā€™re taking into account how nondescript/shitty the site was before he got ahold of it, that makes Sawgrass even more impressive. I think itā€™s probably the second strongest set of par fives Iā€™ve ever played behind Sand Hills.

Nantz taking shots at KVV!

I didnā€™t hear it and Iā€™m not sure it really it really was a subtweet of me, but if so, it shows how soft the golf establishment is that one contrarian story on a website that has published five stories in five years has Nantz worked up enough to respond.

I highly doubt it was, but the refuge can manufacture controversy with the best!

I appreciate your take, Kevin. I think it is healthy to question things like 10 at Riv. I disagree with any conclusion that thinks it stinks but hopefully the discourse will push Riviera and the PGAT to make slight tweaks to improve it.

That Aon segment talking strokes gained/lost about positions on 10 shows why it is so respected as a short 4, even if it needs a tweak or not

Did Immelmam just quote the article?

What did he say?

I thought he might have repeated a quote you got from Max. But upon review, Iā€™m not seeing it in your piece, so it may have popped up elsewhere during the hole 10 discourse over the last day

Iā€™d listen to an argument that ā€œthe hole is heavily dependent on luck and therefore not a great tournament golf hole to determine who was betterā€. But watching these guys have to deal with things just straight up not go their way even though they hit a good shot is very fun for me.

Absolutely. Got on in 3.

Itā€™s been said before, but after watching the featured hole coverage and see it was taking groups 20+ minutes to get through, Iā€™m on the 10 stinks train.

Cant agree on Sawgrass vs any of Casa de Campo Teeth of the Dog, the Ocean Course or PGA West, having played all four. I would put any of the Streamsong courses above Sawgrass as well.

Do you even know what a blog is, Kevin?
