Armchair Architect Needed: Help design backyard wedge range

Website is awesome guys! I’m really impressed with everything you have been working on.
Looking forward to the pro shop being up and running. The 9/1 event is on my calendar is well!

Awesome @Kelch @Slick. Cannot wait to have the course firing at the end of the summer for the event!

What did everyone think about the December Newsletter?

Official BLVD of BCN has to be the O.G., Pale Ale

The website is fantastic! I didn’t get the newsletter this morning, but I did get the welcome email a while ago. Sept event penciled in!

I’ve been following in the shadows for some time and I can no longer stay silent!

So many of us, confined to our 1/3 acre lots in suburbia, are living vicariously through your journey. It feels like the refuge was created purely to facilitate this project!

I live just south of Nashville and have 2 young boys that I am introducing, eh-em, force-feeding the game to. We are fortunate to have a donation only 9 hole farm course nearby. The origin goes something like a little girl interested in the game asked her dad to build a putting green, which expanded into a driving range, into 1 hole, into 3 holes and finally 9 holes and open to the public for free. The owner, Mr. Bill, is an angel and by the way, his daughter received a scholarship to play college golf a couple years ago - which is such an incredible story!

This post was not to say you should open your property to everyone like this guy; just a cool story about a home-built course that turned into something really great.

Website is really great; love following along! Great job!

Check your spam for the newsletter. If you received the welcome email, you should have received the newsletter.

That’s a pretty cool story!

That is a freaking awesome story. Cannot wait to dive into Lightning Bug Golf Course. Stories like this deserve more attention. Almost wish you hadn’t shared it here so we could write about it in our next Ethos Course Feature on the newsletter haha.

We will open up BCN to anyone that wants to play it for free. Hope to be a true community build golf course and opening it up for free is the right thing to do. Anyone can be a BCN member.

Really appreciate you sharing this and following along.

I didn’t get the newsletter - I did receive the welcome email awhile back though.

Blasphemy! Did you check your spam? It is titled “Introducing someguysbackyard.com” I’ll find out how to get it on the website somehow if not.

Link for the newsletter if you did not receive it via email!!!

I think I’ll just forever be lost since all this time I assumed it was pronounced “brow” not “bruff”.

The “How to Help” section is such a great idea. Both recognizing the contributions of everyone and clearly specifying what is needed and how more people can help. Whether you want to spend $5 or $5000, there are ways to get involved and help make this a reality. Even if you, like me, are confined to an office and to living vicariously through this project, at least I can live in a world where a tool I bought is on site and helping further the vision…

Only concern is that there is no listing of Camel Blues and Bud heavy for our man Darren. If he is into the diesel at 8:30 AM, I can’t imagine how many he goes through on your typical work day.

Looks great! Only bummer is that I’ll be wrapping up a trip to Scotland next September and won’t be able to make it to the opening event.

Haha knew the name would be misinterpreted. I called @BCNSuper “Bro” for about a year (and still sometimes do for fun) before he told me I was an idiot and pronouncing it wrong. Figured once we released our first podcast, we would get a lot of these type comments.

This is such a relief. You truly get it. Hope newcomers will get it after reading through the website and such. Hopefully there is a wide enough range of products that anyone can find something to contribute - I think we have items as cheap as 10 bucks that would make a huge difference. A lot of it can be found in the garage as well.

I was actually poking fun at Darren two weekends back because he recently transitioned to the little 8-ounce cans. His reasoning was that they are “basically one sippers” and they aren’t so big as to get warm after a sip or two - that’ll get ya when you are drinking heavies. I’ve never seen him without a six-pack in a cooler on the front of his 4-wheeler.

If it’s a gmail account, mine was initially under Promotions if you have that folder.

@sundaybag Have you thought about (or has it been suggested) finding a course in the area that is on the verge of a reno - and seeing if you could rip some sod off them to use for your tees/greens?

It isn’t in my spam folder. I was, however, flattered by how many busty ladies wanted to get in touch with me.
