A thread for the Texas folks

Heritage Ranch is supposed to open nine holes on Friday. The front nine is currently flooded. It should open up early next week. Pecan Hollow is under water.
I can’t believe Coyote Ridge isn’t flooded.

Thinking about you guys in or adjacent to the oil and gas industry.

ClubCorp’s ranges are closed due to weather, will reopen if it ever stops raining, most courses are open and will have carts as the rain lets up as well. They are not having starters and the the only things open are the pro shops so now would be the time to walk up and play.

Been there a few times. Love that place!

I would sleep in one’s garage, eat spam, and sing Tejano for the opportunity.

Hey guys, I’m living in College Station at the moment (going to A&M for grad school). Looking to get back to playing again after a bit of a hiatus, if anyone’s in the area and wants to play let me know.

Does anyone know of any closed courses in DFW you can easily walk on and play on? I did it the other day at Tenison but they didn’t have any holes cut in the greens

I’m sure you could easily jump on at Luna Vista. I bet it’s a sloppy mess with all the rain we’ve had. I got an email today that Iron Horse is open and to use the Arcis app to book times/pay so you don’t have to interact. I wonder if other Arcis courses in the area are doing the same.

I’ve heard Twin Creeks up in Allen is doing the same, and I believe that is an Arcis course as well.

Man that place will never get my business ever again. Guy in the proshop is the biggest dickhead. Shame because I’ve shot my lowest round ever out there and witnessed a buddy make a hole in one on 2.

Yeah not a huge fan of that place either. Some decent holes, but some terrible holes. It’s also a hot bed for running into people from high school I’d hoped to never see again.

I’m sure this is a coincidence, but a year or two ago I was playing with my dad and the group in front of us had a guy make an ace on number 2…

Stumbled upon this. Figured it needed to go here :facepunch:

Any word on walkable DFW courses open to public? Haven’t been successful so far in finding one.

Did you settle in the McKinney area?

Yeah we did. We’re in an apartment in Prosper for the time being until we can sell our house in Austin.

Pecan hollow and Ridge view ranch in Plano I believe are still open and very walkable.
Heritage Ranch is still open, but there are some distances between a few holes. I 've seen some walkers there on occasion. Westridge in Plano off Custer is open. It’s walkable if my memory is correct.

Sherrill Park in Richardson is open. They’ve got 2 courses that are both walkable.

I think Ft Worth munis are still open to walk. Highly recommend Rockwood.

I live west of Fort Worth, right by Split Rail out in Aledo. They’re still going strong. Squaw Creek (another one of my favorites) is still open too.
