A thread for the Texas folks

I know I’m responding to a post from two years back but a search for “golf junkie” landed me here? Where did you play ball at? I played at UNC Charlotte.

I might have missed it, but what makes Salado the halfway point? Which side does (parallel to Salado) go?

I think it effectively makes it the DFW Metroplex vs. Houston and Centex

Also, if any of you are interested in the BBQ Circuit, our MGA at Cameron Country Club is putting on a 2-man 9/9/9 Low Ball, Shamble, Scramble on May 9th. It’ll be $75/man + an option to buy into the skins game.

DM me for more details if interested.

Love it! I played at Arkansas - Little Rock. Moved out to Charlotte right after school though and loved that area. Seems like UNCC would’ve been a pretty fun place to play. At least compared to some other mid majors out there.

The Texas Golf Association uses the following to determine North and South Mid-AM, etc. Just an easy one to follow.

(31’ parallel. Salado, TX and South is the break point)

Trying to get a Friday morning game together tomorrow around 9, Mansfield National or Waterchase in Fort Worth. Also up to any other suggestion, anyone in?

I had TOO much fun while I was there. Let me know if you ever want to tee it up.

I know it’s not a great debate but I need some advice
Lions vs Roy Kizer

Lions. No questions asked.

Anyone in the SA area, me and @MikeHoncho have a 12:36 tee time today at Cedar Creek, anyone else is welcome to join.

Anyone In dallas want to tee it up this afternoon 2/3?

If you want a big course with wide fairways and long views you’d go Kizer. If you want the local’s quirky old-school course you’d go Lions. Kizer on a weekday will have faster pace than Lions. But I love Lions 10x more than Kizer.

Riverside is definitely worth checking out as it’s similar in size to Lions (+/- 6k), same old school vibes, is 14/18 Perry Maxwell, in good shape, and you can get around pretty fast (less than 3 hours on weekdays and weekend mornings).

Don’t need tooooooo many people to remember Riverside though because as of now it’s outside the collective Austin golf hivemind’s Lions/Mo Willy/Clay Kizer rota (+ Riverside encourages personal coolers)

I like Riverside. Last time I went, it was drizzling, so the course was pretty empty. I landed in so many bunkers, but there was so much green and deer and chances to be creative, I didn’t mind at all.

I like them both but I’d pick Kizer.

Anybody up for a game tomorrow morning in Dallas or Fort Worth areas?

I’m going to play tomorrow morning if it doesn’t rain. Anybody in?

If you play at Cedar Creek, try to resist the temptation to get Cart No. 69. Me and @KBandujo had to carry around a rock for the first nine holes to use as a parking brake before we could change carts at the turn.
