2024 Refuge Roosts: Local Clubs & Club Championship Outline

I have one planned for next year. Bears scheduled to play at Arrowhead and I’ve never been. Girlfriend also has a goal to visit every state and needs Kansas

What concert?

A crushing blow when you do that whole trip and realize that your girlfriend will still have Kansas unchecked on her “states to see” list

It’ll be a real quick trip across the state line. I want no part of Kansas. I really don’t want any part of the KC airport from what I’ve heard. I’m there for Arrowhead and BBQ

Good call. Also as has been mentioned before, the green lady lounge is phenomenal in KCMO

For the most part, good call. But you’re missing out on some stuff.

For instance, there is a super good brewery in Salina, KS called Blue Skye. Highly recommend for anyone traveling through the area.

Brooksider is still so overrated. Go to Lew’s or especially Charlie Hoopers if yer on that side of town before you go to the damned Brooksoder.

Also the Kansas side has the more iconic golf, Prairie Dune being just one.

Folks im still looking to snag patches for any roosts that got em, please hit me up!

Hot take: the proliferation of craft and micro breweries—99% of which are going to have near-identical menus—has made visiting breweries out of town effectively meaningless. There are very few local breweries worth traveling for, and most of the “good” ones are basically just restaurants with a potentially better beer selection than normal.

I’m not sure I’ve ever agreed with something more

I lived there for a summer for an internship in 2015. Great city.

Totally, but not [inserts my favorite local brewery], that one is different and better.

I don’t view this as a bad thing. Fresh, local, small batch beer is the best beer. The entire craft brew “scene” is a drop in the megabrew ocean. I’ll always take the local brewery recommendation.

Hotter take. 90% of the beer at said breweries won’t be as good as a crisp miller lite.

I can’t think of anything I’ve disagreed with more.

No one drinks Miller Lites because they think they taste good
