2024 Refuge Roosts: Local Clubs & Club Championship Outline

As discussed on the November Nest pod that just published (visit your member profile to listen Home | No Laying Up), we are excited to rollout our plan for 2022 Refuge Roosts. Below is a detailed outline of The Refuge Roost plan.

This outline is geared toward Nest members that want to be a Roost captain, but in the spirit of #transparency we are opening it up for everyone to review (more info to come in December on signing up for Roosts in your area):

If you are interested in starting a Refuge Roost or want more information (after reading the outline above), please fill out and submit this application.

Over the course of December 2021, we hope to identify 20 founding Refuge Roosts and year 1 captains. This will enable us to rollout the Roosts in January 2022 and share with wider Nest community to build some momentum!

Couple other things to note:

  • No You do not have to join a Roost in 2022. The Nest membership benefits will not change and no one has to get more involved if they don’t want to.
  • We discuss how the Roosts fit into the wider NLU event strategy in 2022, so if you have questions after reading this post and the linked outline, I’d suggest listening to the pod!

Please reach out to @Double_Bogey_Dave, @sundaybag, or me with any questions (ideally after you’ve read the outline…).

Happy Thanksgiving,
Neil

12/22/21 Updates:

In a very out of character moment for NLU, the December Nest pod was posted too early, so I wasn’t able to get this post up before you all heard the news. Thank you @anon24074719 for lighting a fire this morning…We have founding Roosts and 2022 Regions ready to go!

Some notes:

  • Regions, Roosts, and Roost Captains are outlined below. Reach out to Roost captain if you are interested in joining a roost!
  • Listen to December Nest Pod for context (found in your member profile Home | No Laying Up).
  • Send in your logos and team names to @Double_Bogey_Dave and @sundaybag (if you haven’t already)
  • We will be working on tech stuff and organization with Captains the next 2-3 weeks (Customizing Pinz app, private club threads, standardized Roost member lists, etc.)

@Double_Bogey_Dave same thing, permission restricted

Hmm, let me know if this works. It is set as “accepting responses”

So with naming each region a roost are you prepared for the inter-region match play to be known as The Cock Fight?

@Double_Bogey_Dave if you go up to the top right of forms, click the three dot icon and go down to “Add collaborators” then make the link not restricted

Regarding PINZ, I don’t believe it’s on Android yet, do you know if they have plans to be in the Play Store soon and do you think this might cause any issues with your vision of how it would be used?

They plan to launch Android app sometime in the first half of next year, so it may only be a pain for a little while.
