Basically the same story but I missed the birdie put on 17 and snap hooked on 18 to finish with a double.
This has been one of the bigger hassles in my life. hahahaha. HOWEVER, we are around 2.5 weeks out, according to my dude.
The lesson is never buy patches.
I come to the Council of Blades in search of advice.
Tonight, in an effort to work on some ongoing issues with my mid to long irons, I took my Sunday bag to the course loaded only with irons (712MB, 4-PW), wedges, and putter to the course for a twilight jaunt.
Game plan was to 1) Make committed, aggressive swings on all shots and 2) play 2 balls against each other.
Well, friends. Mission fucking accomplished.
It clicked. A couple weeks too late, but it clicked. I struck the absolute piss out of the ball tonight.
However, I have a conundrum and think this needs to be run by the Council before I claim success in the Bladey 80.
I played two balls tonight, shooting 36 on Ball A and 38 on Ball B for a tidy combined 74.
Well within the Bladey 80 requirements, but I don’t think it is valid because it was two balls on the same 9 and not 18 different holes.
Would you consider that the Bladey 80, or should I make sure my Saturday morning round (or my Ontario Match Play bout against @Phillongbird in a week) is a full throated effort at the Bladey 80?
Blades be with you.
I would say no, but I also do not care and this matters barely at all. Hahahaha.
Listen, absolutely. But I’m not a member of PXG. I ain’t about that stolen valor life.
And also with you.
Hey, you decide. I say no way do you play two balls on the same nine, but if you feel it met YOUR version, go in peace, serve the Lord.
All these soft, ethereal appreciators of the game are being too coy, and you asked for answers dammit. No it doesn’t count, go do it Saturday with the pressure on and we bow at your feet.
Wrong thread
I appreciate you, Mack.
We’re leaking oil a little on the back.
Congrats!
First of all, damn the golf industry for making me feel like I couldn’t play blades for all of these years.
I did what you have to do to pull this off. Putted my ass off. Chipped it great.
The wheels were starting to come off on the back 9 but gathered myself and finished the last 6 in -1.
Pured the 4 off the tee all day. The 2 FWs I missed were by a total of 5 yards. Now looking for a 3 iron LOL.
I have never been a good wind player but proved I could do it today.
Thank you all for inspiring me to give it a try. Sold my “mid handicap” clubs this week. I’m all in.
#Blades4Life
Thank you @Sarah !
Hell yeah man. Fantastic round. #YOTB Forever.
Thanks brother. I appreciate it. Never thought it was possible.
I’m not sure you have any idea what “wheels started to come off” even means.
