What did you end up going with? I’ve got a set of 223 on the way to tinker with blending with some 221s
Haven’t made a move yet, but leaning a combo of the CBs and the 770s. They were the best for my gapping because I struggle with half wedges and wanted to stay away from a 6* lift gap. Also thought the TMs paired better than the 243s and 245s.
Ohh I gotcha, thought you were going with the jpx, you meant they’re releasing Monday.
Sorry, the embargo ends Monday. So lots of JPX content next week.
Love me some mizunos
Srixon zx5 mkii is the way.
P7cb ehhhh I’m not sold. Blades still rule
Interesting. I’m curious here as I’m still considering an iron change before next season.
To be fair I split a small bucket with the 4 iron which is the new p770 and the rest with the 7 iron p7cb. I didn’t feel like I hit the ball great anyway so we’ll certainly give them way more time but I didn’t have love at first sight. But I like them enough to see what next time brings.
I will say for guys that want a higher launching iron the p770 is sick. I wanted it for the long iron but someone wanting a good looking iron and some help all the way through they look and feel great!
9 holes with the p7cb/p770 today. Can confirm two things. The p770 long irons absolutely fuck. These are the best addition to my bag in a long time. I hit a punch 5 iron with tree trouble that was a stroke saver and a wicked 4 iron into a par 5 today.
The p7cb also have an insanely good grind/sole on them. They just slice through the turf and don’t come close to digging. It’s sexual. The verdict isn’t in yet but today’s evidence is doing wonders for the case.
What were the gamers before this purchase?
Some sort of blades because @Southpaw72 id a cult member.
Wilson staff blades. Yes I’m a cult member. Still am. Blades are forever and everyone.
Why am I looking these up right now?
Because apparently we’re the same person. Right @Douger23 ?
Anyone else playing i230s? Been gaming them for a couple months and might be the most consistent irons I’ve ever hit. Shockingly good feel for a cast iron too.
I got fit for them at the beginning of the season and they have been nothing but great. Went in not thinking Ping whatsoever but man do they perform. So consistent, no fliers. And handicap has just hit a career low. Was it the clubs or the practice net purchase? A real who can say
Yes. Pretty much. I just don’t DM you about club tinkering quite as much as @ChuckV247. Lol
Interesting….I tested some i230’s at golf Galaxy against a set of used P770’s and really wasn’t a fan of the feel. They just didn’t feel very soft at all by comparison.
Ping irons are cast for the most part which is why you don’t get that soft forge feel like you have on pretty much everything else you’ve played recently.
