Year Of The Players/Players Distance Irons(YOTPI)

The only true side by side back to back shots comparison I did was against the T150. The i230 I felt was the same or better. Would love to try the new P770s though. Didn’t pull the trigger on the TM site wide sale error.

I’m still sad I missed this

Not hard to make an iron that feels better than a Titleist (ducks)

The new p770 are way better than the last model. I did not like the previous generation. At all

Yeah, I’ve never been a Taylormade guy honestly, but really did enjoy the P770 I hit. I honestly would love to get a fitting option on a driving range to try different models from different brands, but the only option near me is off of mats and like 100 or 150 just for the fitting and I’m to cheap to do that. :man_facepalming:t2:

If I’m getting fit for irons, I need to be hitting off grass and if I’m paying for it, it has to be off grass.

If not, I’ll just buy random sets and try them out.

Lets be honest, you’re gonna keep doing this even if you get fit…

I’ve hit cast blade irons and couldn’t tell them apart from forged. I think the harsh Ping feel is from their signature high CG which impacts different delivery types differently. Hence the large range of opinions on them.

Idk if this belongs here but I hit some AP2s over the weekend and they were #buttery

No clickiness?

No, or at least much less than my current T300 gamers lol

My issue with Titleist is everything sounds like a click. I guess that’s what I get for playing Mizunos for 20 years, everything sounds clicky in comparison.

The only Titleist set I had felt sweet but they were pure forged steel (735CM). I suspect the migration to multi piece multi material construction has sacrificed feel for better performance on misshits.

It’s interesting. I went from Mizuno MP-30s to MP-20 HMB (a whole other story there) but I didn’t notice a big drop in feel. It might be the copper that Mizuno are using these days, but they’ve managed to keep things feeling soft. The new TM stuff feels pretty good too, same with Callaway, but for me the T series click.

Fixed some setup issues. P7CB’s are great. These will get a run. They might last 6 months at this rate. (That’s a compliment)

How long do you normally keep a set of irons?

My Wilson’s lasted 9 months and just like the miracle of life itself that too was miraculous.

Feel like this is the best place to start enquiries:

Anyone tried / have any rumours about the Callaway X Forged irons that seem to be an exclusive to the Japanese market?

About to leave YOTB for YOTPI with some T100 and T150.

AMA.
