All depends on your goals. I plan on running a half marathon soon so going to use whoop to attempt to manufacture some green day on days I plan on running for distance.
Outside of using it to coordinate your better workouts, you will get brunt out. The idea is it helps you push yourself.
For me, I try to really use it to guide my workouts and training. I don’t exactly have any specific training goals (unlike @serwin’s half marathon). But I know what days to push it or what days to take it easier. Maybe I’ll add in an extra run at the end of the day if I still have some room to reach my strain goal for the day.
Also, I really like being able to see my RR to monitor for COVID. I’ve had a couple times where my sinuses/allergies were really bad and I felt awful. But seeing a normal RR gave me the peace of mind that it wasn’t anything COVID-related.
So far I’ve found that to be one of the two biggest benefits during my time. I had a close contact back in the Fall and was entirely asymptomatic, but my RR was through the roof one night and my recovery was about 5% despite a normal night’s sleep. Sure enough, tested positive.
The second biggest was doing dry January and seeing just how much alcohol can change your body’s ability to recover and take on strain.
Just got mine on Monday & took advantage of the NLU discount code. Still got a couple of days for it to gather enough data to get personalised feedback, but I’m fully expecting it to call me a fat twat. Joining the group now
Just opened up my first support claim. Had it give me the low battery notification, threw the charged battery pack on right before I took a nap, forgot about it being on there until later that night, then saw the battery was at 2%. Now the band is fully dead and won’t kick on. Here’s to hoping they get it resolved soon!
Thought I’d share some Whoop data a little over 36 hours removed from the first Moderna poke.
Got the shot 3/18 around 5:15pm. Felt fine that evening. Just some light soreness at the injection spot like any flu shot. First night of sleep was fine.
However throughout the next day I gradually felt more sore, more fatigue, and stiff.
By about 6pm, I felt like just laying down. Body felt beat up. My shoulder was very painful where the shot went in. Felt like I had to keep my elbow attached to my ribs and not have anything touch it to avoid discomfort.
Took a tylenol which kind of helped, but by bed I struggled to get my shirt off without yelping.
Then not surprisingly Whoop stats are showing a tough scene this morning.
Arm still quite sore, but improved from the worst yesterday. Still some body aches - especially my hips.
