I wasn’t aware an ignored grudge match challenge was needed to preempt interesting history lessons

Played out here a bunch in the 10 months I was in Florida. Decent value; the courses aren’t terrible; the staff is nice. You can and often do worse in the area

Back before the US became a no-go zone went to Fort Lauderdale for Christmas and always called Jacaranda a “home course” down there. Great people, fun courses, hope it is there after the war.

Played Saltleaf down in Estero, FL today. Formerly Raptor Bay, the re-design by Raymond Floyd is fantastic. Not a single true bunker on the whole property. Instead there’s large waste areas with riveted edges. Greens were firm and pretty darn fast, but true as can be. 9/10 for Florida public golf.

Also played Old Corkscrew on this trip. One of my favorites in the area. Sadly it’s being sold off and turned into the private “Pandion Club” - with a full redesign by Kyle Phillips.

Played both Raptor and Old Corkscrew a few years ago. Liked Raptor better, excited to hear it got a facelift.

Corkscrew was like if you asked someone to make a medieval torture machine out of a golf course. Lots of target golf. It can be bulldozed IMO.

Corkscrew is scoreable if the wind is down but absolutely target golf. Nicklaus deep in his bag for that one.

New member initiation at $300K for the Pandion Club - surprised they could get that type of money so far north of Naples.

Had the pleasure of playing the Hills in Arrowtown. Amazing course, stunning vistas, and provocative sculptures on every hole. Was shocked to learn Rick Kayne was doing a total reno. Would be a dream to have as your everyday course.

Are there any high end clubs in Naples that don’t have a massive wait list at present?

Kinsale I believe.

That last photo with the wolves(?)
How the hell do they mow?!?! I don’t see any string trimmer marks around the legs. I’m so curious!

None that I know of. Fiddlers Creek is up to 5+ yrs now.

Good public golf in that area is increasingly hard to find as well. Bummed to see Corkscrew go full private.
