We’ll always have this:
@Fluff First question: How was the shank on a rating of 1 to ball mark left on the hosel?
2nd question: Did Kaiser yell fore?
RTJ - Magnolia Grove Crossings
Another hottt day…. I think the best part of today was a new position for the DeWalt fan… Shot a 99. Tough day out there
No fore call necessary, late in the day so no one on the first hole
Id give it a 6.9 on the scale. Easy to do there with a patio of diners and a bunch of glass 10 yards behind the pin
Plus I knew I was being filmed! That’s pressure.
Where I played two weeks ago: Golfklubbur Vestmannaeyja, Westman Islands (Heimaey), Iceland. Like playing golf at the edge of the earth, through an actual lava field. Lahinch if it was somehow even narrower (never played Lahinch but I stand by this take). The front nine is wild (quirky, fun), back nine also wild (insane, extremely difficult).

I really need to get back to Iceland with my golf clubs.
Chambers Bay for the 2nd time today.
Place rocks. Remains #1 on my list of favorite courses. If it was part of a resort it would be a top 5 public course in the US.
First time in Hilton Head and unfortunately didn’t have to go Hurricane hunting as Humberto had grabbed her lady Imelda from the coast and said adios…which means I get to play some golf on my wife and Is first wedding anniversary. 1st up was a round at the Arthur Hills- Palmetto Dunes course. Fantastic shape and layout.
Atlantic Dunes tomorrow morning!
Stock your bag with balls and really focus on hitting fairways.
Oh yeah for sure!
Is Atlantic Dunes that challenging? I’m looking for places for the FiL and I to play in November that are nice-ish, but below HTGL. I had Atlantic Dunes as one option, amongst others.
Dang I looked at the website and it didn’t appear there was that much water, I thought there looked to be more on Heron Point, but maybe it’s the other way around.
Last day on HHI and decided to spend way to much in the pro shop and get my ass kicked at Atlantic Dunes… a steady 16 mph wind with gusts up to 25mph made things interesting.
Had a work trip this week to Seattle and then Anchorage. Brought the clubs and managed snag a single at Chambers Bay for the last tee time of the day on Sunday and then walked on at Anchorage Golf Club this morning. The annoyingly don’t let singles book so I hung around for about 45 minutes before I got the call to go.
Chambers is as advertised. Really fun course and beautiful setting, and I had trouble in a lot of spots gauging distance due to the scale. Reminds me most of Landmand except that Landmand feels even bigger (and a worse walk).
It’s very late in the season up here in Anchorage but the weather was decent (low 50s and mostly cloudy). Course got a ton of rain on Wednesday and they punched the greens yesterday so conditions were as expected; muddy in spots, slow/shaggy/bumpy greens, and generally soft. This course hosted the US Women’s Senior Am a few years back, I guess Alaska was the last state to host a USGA event. But all in all a pretty fun course. Plenty of strategy off the tee, a good amount of movement in the fairway, interesting greens, and great views. Pretty comparable to other Bill Newcomb designs I’ve played. Would definitely recommend if you’re ever in Anchorage.
Glad you were able to get out on Chambers! Sorry none of the sad sacks of shit from the PNW Crew couldn’t join you (myself included).
It’s all your fault.
