Where did you play this week? (Part 2)

Broken record here but every time someone posts about a functional cig machine I wonder: “Why not this, but for pre-rolls?”

What did you think of the two? Laurel might be one of my all time favorites. Every hole could basically be a painting.

Really? Architecturally or… conditioning-wise (beauty wise)?

They were both very good. In pretty wonderful shape considering how much rain and heat y’all have gotten.

Two very different styles that were good complements to each other.

One of the best conditioned Northeastern courses I’ve ever played and just the overall experience of the place. Every hole is beautiful and quite a good layout in my opinion.

Fox Chapel is probably my favorite course in Pittsburgh but I haven’t had the pleasure of playing Oakmont yet

Okay.

Fox >>> Laurel Valley, IMO

Shit! My picture never loaded! Thank you for adding that

Also thanks for setting up the day, I’ve heard about the place for years and I’m not sure I would have ever made it out there

In trivia that will probably only interest me (someone who grew up there), I had never noticed that the Golf Club uses their logo on the street sign instead of the typical “Fox Chapel Borough” signage. Pretty cool.

That is a cool little detail. Thanks for sharing!

Living in Vancouver this week but didn’t not bring the clubs. Will not make the same mistake next time!

This might be a hot take, but if I had unlimited funds (and a jet card), Fox Chapel would be the course I would want to play every day for the rest of my life. Maybe it was just my experience there, but it was a world class round and didn’t kick my nuts in like Oakmont.

I have a very dear friend that is a member at Turner Hill. Fantastic Club - Pro Shop has some room for improvement.

Found it to be extremely playable but not at all a pushover. Really good mix of the two. It’s also a very good walk.

Really enjoyed my day out there

I took my family up for a visit in June and we went to the club for lunch ( no golf this trip :-1::-1:) on the patio overlooking 17/18. I couldn’t believe how good the course conditions were. Gold star for Turner Hill staff

Got the chance to play Lake Merced this week. Just an awesome golf course with plenty of chances for low numbers if you’re straight off the tee (I was not).
