May also be in for something on Friday…

My plan is to drive in on Thursday and play somewhere Friday. I’m just waiting to find out if the wife wants to come or not.

Anyone have a conversation about possibly getting a large place to stay?

Availability finally opened up for my wife’s Marriott discount (damn Spring Training prices), so hotel options are now booked. Either staying at JW Camelback (if it’s just Kristen and I) or down at Wild Horse Pass (waterslide for our son).

I doubt I’ll get out for any golf outside of the event.

What’s the weather like in March? Is there a need for a pool?

It’s pretty lovely… Not hot that you need a pool, but it will definitely be in use.

I’m going to go the other way and say unless it’s indoor, a pool won’t be necessary. Hot tub for sure, but I wouldn’t be in a pool*. Days are pretty short that time of year and it will still be cold at night.

*I hate being cold so I’m not in a pool if it’s below 90.

Pools at most resorts would be heated, I would think, since the peak season is not warm enough to support solar heating. But not many private residences (ie AirBNB) have heated pools.

My 2.5yo sees a waterslide, he’s going to ride the waterslide (and ride it no less than 30 times).

Donation DM sent. Only took me 2 months from donating to send the DM. Got a few months to shake some serious rust and turn the page on 2023 when the handicap inflated by 2.

Will also be down for a Friday outing. I’d suggest Southern Dunes/Whirlwind if you want to be in the south Valley. If you want to venture a little further east - I can get a group on at a discounted rate at Lone Tree given it’s high season. I think it would be under $90 per person there if there any budget restrictions for folks. It’s not at the level of those courses.

Have people finalized lodging? If so, what general area are most staying in?

Not sure yet but @Iceman and I are sharing a car and place to stay. Anyone else want to get in on lodging? Nothing booked yet; the more the merrier!

I’ll be driving in so I’ll have a vehicle also. I might be interested in lodging, but don’t wait on me to book. I won’t know until after the new year if I’ll be flying solo or if the Mrs. is going to come with me.

I can also pick someone up and drive them to the course if needed.

I’m also happy to do that. I’ll be living in Tempe by ASU by then so if anyone is staying anywhere near there feel free to reach out.

Maybe a shoot to book something early January?

Changing my mind on this for what I believe is a more fair system. Any unconfirmed spots currently in the field will be moved to the back of the waitlist, and then I will reach out to the individuals at the top of the waitlist and give them a few days to respond if they would like to take that spot, and move down until field of 24 is set.

This also avoids multiple people making a donation right after each other, but the field already being filled.
