Exactly. Back in the pre-COVID times, CM was the Friday after work stop to spend waaaaay too much for a single massive fancy weekend meal. Would love to have HEB as a go-to for all the staples, especially now that Whole Foods is just Amazon.
Central Matket is waaaaaay overpriced but they have some good stuff. Their meat and seafood…the best.
They run some some great wine deals a few times a year as well and carry local TX wines/meads you can’t buy anywhere else. @DuckDuckHook would know this too but they get way too crowded to the point of being uncomfortable recently.
Shit can escalate at the seafood counter when they call your number. Last Mother’s Day, in addition to whatever else I was buying, I came home with three sea urchins. Still married, for the record.
Any good reasons for the A&M hate? Definitely used to it as an Aggie, we are easy targets, just curious (unless it’s a bit, in which case I’ll see myself out).
As someone engaged to an Aggie, I would assume it’s more about being easy targets than actual hate. I make numerous “cult” comments to her and always laugh about the fact that you have yell practices with the guys in white overalls. In general, I think most people that make these comments, myself included, have great respect for the traditions the school has in place and the strong camaraderie that is built within the student population.
Lol it’s fine, I am definitely aware how weird we are. I just thought Tron was leaning into it multiple times over to where he either legitimately dislikes A&M or is calling back to a bit. Either is fine, was just curious.
HEB continues to show Kroger and Publix how an actual leader in the grocery game should act
