Probably not the right thread, but I thought I’d give a thumbs-up for Bath Golf Club which I’ve played a few times in the past couple years and is an easy/fun walk and worth it for $25. Conditions earlier this month were a bit soggy but greens were decent. Sweet lens flare here on 15 green.
Doing a little Maine Road trip with the wife. Portland was the first stop last night. We ate at Eventide and it was some of the better food we have ever had. Great rec!
Where else are y’all headed to?
Bring the sticks?
Staying at my buddy’s place in Bristol for a couple of days, then up to Acadia, and then one more night in Portland on the way back down. No sticks, earning a few marriage points back after all the golf the last two months.
If you don’t want to deal with the line/crowds at Jordan Pond Tea House after hiking, have some afternoon tea and treats at Asticou, the croquet courts are immaculate, the vibes are pleasant, and the view is solid. For meals on MDI, hit up Peter Trout’s and Ted’s Takeout. If you have time, take a drive by Kebo Valley, great old school course in the midst of Acadia’s peaks.
Eventide is the goat. Lmk if you need any other recs in/around Portland or up the coast.
For Acadia and Bar Harbor, I have a whole google doc, but a quick list of places I’d recommend in town are Havanna, Project Social, Side Street Cafe, Peekytoe Provisions, La Bella Vita bar & restaurant and Stewman’s Lobster Pound (inside Regency hotel), Jordan’s for breakfast. Coffee Matter
Would love to see the google Doc
@DonDrapersHaircut is a legend. Some are calling him the Anthony Bourdain of Maine. Had amazing meals at Eventide, Central Provision, and Side Street Cafe thanks to him. Hit up Treehouse, Maine Beer Co, Allagash, Definitive, Foundation, and Sam Adams Breweries on the trip. And Cottage Street Pub in Bar Harbor was an awesome spot.
Lol awesome, glad to hear it. Hope you guys had a great trip. And shoutout Tony B - hopefully there were no tough reservations, pardon the pun. Adding Cottage Street Pub to the list.
