Trap Draw: Chop Sessions

After listening, @Pooshdaddy are you still hoping Shanny can lure Brady out of retirement?

The Bills takes on the TrapDraw continue to be what I would expect from drive time radio callers smh

One is a toss up for best QB in the league and the other had a major regression.

Edit: Forgot Allen was playing through a UCL sprain (minor tear? Idk dude isn’t getting surgery at least) since week 9!

Let’s go Shandon!

If we’re going to get together and shit on BBWAA, I’m way in on that. But yeah, I’m a small Hall truther. If you can’t convince 90% of your contemporary peers that you’re worthy of being in the Hall, I don’t think you should be there. And if the people voting can’t be unbiased about who gets in, then what does it matter anyway? It should be very obvious who the guys that belong in the Hall are - guys that a casual fan would know. I don’t think a casual fan has any clue who Scott Rolen is.

Brutal episode for QB takes. Starting to think Tron and Randy don’t know ball!

If you haven’t realized the NFL Trapdraws is just what happens when morning radio callers record a podcast, I’m not sure what to tell you

Discussing QB rankings by DVOA but somehow where Joey B ends up is never discussed

Looked it up, 2B is tied for the lowest number of MVP’s won at a position. I don’t think 2B are really knocking down the door at Top 5 MVP votes.

1B - 37
RF - 29
LF - 24
SP - 21
CF - 21
3B - 19
C - 18
2B - 16
SS - 16
RP - 4
DH - 1 (asterisk, this is Shohei lol)

I prefer looking at HoF induction criteria as who was the best at their position in their era, and let those guys in. Otherwise, the BBWAA will continue gate keeping the HOF and alienate entire generations of fans and their favorite players. And that sucks.

And don’t get me started on comparing modern players to Babe Ruth’s fat ass. His heart would give out the second he saw a Degrom fastball or Emmanuel Clase cutter.

Shan-don TC. Stay with me.

I think he’s rolling with Big Cock Brock and hoping Trey beats him out. A proper competition!

Nobody loves the Trap Draw more than me. Legitimately have listened to every episode, some several times.

Let’s retire the NFL podcasts.

They arent convincing their peers though. Theyre convincing writers. A lot who stopped covering baseball a while ago and are weirdo hardon gatekeepers. The whole I wont vote for him on the first ballot but will on the second ballot type people, and worse!

That was a great conversation. The BBHOF is getting too big in my opinion. Let Rose and the steroid guys in, and I think that could change long term. Feels like guys are getting in so that someone can get in. I read the other day that Chase Utley will have a good chance of getting in. That’s a no for me dawg, and I saw him play in person a ton during his prime. He missed too many games. Guys like that and Rolen make me think my favorite player not in the HOF—Kenny Lofton—should get in. And while my heart wants to see it, my brain knows he’s a ā€œno.ā€

Yeah, but Scott Rolen was fucking awesome in MVP Baseball 2005.

Fuck Pete Rose. I’m OK with letting him in after he dies. Steroid guys should definitely be in though.

Perhaps they can just induct him as Jon Dowd; then everyone wins.

What’s your position? Allen > Burrow? God bless ya if so…

Jackie Robinson got in with 77.5% of the votes…

I’m sure racism played no part in that.

Major, really?

Did Burrow ā€œregressā€ or did the offensive approach and scheme change in general, admittedly part of defenses adjusting to the offense, which led to lower AY/A? Because that’s about the only ā€œregressionā€ there was.

Still top of the league in completion percentage, top 5 in TD%, lower INT % than Allen. Allen with 13 (lost 8) fumbles compared to Burrow’s 6 (lost 5).

No doubt Allen is the better athlete and more trait-y. But he’s a higher variance player, and if anyone has shown ā€œregressionā€ it’s been Allen, since his 2020 peak.

We’re mostly splitting hairs over who’s 2 or 3, which is a nice place to be as fans. On a given day I’m willing to give it to either guy, I’m not as definitive in it as Randy is.
