The Lobby at The peninsula hotel
Eataly is good. Come at me.
Not sure if youâre being serious but everyone raves about afternoon tea at the Langham
Its serious in that my wife expects it. Thanks.
This is the first trap draw city preview that I was going to turn off. I did keep on listening, just in case, but now regret the wasted time. Best part was hearing about JBâs high school and college run ins with the âlawâ, and then it went downhill from there.
On a side note, I listen to a lot of podcasts and I always listen at 2x speed. Outside of the occasional Brit, I can always keep up at that speed. JB was an incredibly difficult speaker to listen at 2x, just very fast talker (plus mediocre audio). I had to adjust down to 1.5x to be able to listen, which even wasted more time
Do you feel better now?
I lived right across from Happy Village. Really hope the Home of the Arts doesnât go under.
Parachute is no doubt the worst Michelin-starred restaurant Iâve ever been to. Was excited to try it, and justâŚno.
I liked the Chicago pod. As a Bears fan the consistent Mike Glennon references cut me deep, but itâs well deserved. My dream trip into Chicage is a Bears game with a round of golf on the Saturday and Monday bookended. Just need covid to get lost.
The discussion about the draft kings and tennis match betting was interesting to me, especially about it moving into golf. That would be a bad scene. There have been TONS of gambling scandals and match-fixing. The last thing you need is to bring that into golf. I can see guys that are well off the pace on a Sunday being able to fix a few putts and cash in on their own. That would be a huge problem golf does not need.
It was a wasted opportunity. So much low hanging fruit missed: bagging on Trubisky, Jordan gambling stories, Chicago movies (Home Alone), the mega-corruption at al levels of government, the bankrupt pension system, Chicago sitcoms, OHare aka the worst airport that isnât Miami, and on and on and on.
Hot take: Todd Has the worst takes out of the group. We need more takes from Neil
They asked the guy if he ever made it to the south side and he responded that he once lived bear soldier field. Um, not south side.
Mega co-sign Hopleaf. I know they were in dire straits lately so I hope they make it through.
When did you go? Iâll admit it wasnât perfect every time, but some key crew members leaving didnât help.
Probably 2016 if not 2015? My most distinct memory is a dish which was basically undercooked firm cubes of squash. The bread was pretty good I guess.
Hmm, yeah, that squash def doesnât sound good. But that monkey bread! We like that.
