nope sure havent…just sharing the bbq joint since thats what was being discussed and all
I’m not following the point you’re trying to make.
I’m sure I’d love an “asian fusion” BBQ, but that’s not what I had in mind with the question. I’m looking for old school southern BBQ, and the meat quality is of top importance because I usually order without sauce-- For instance, I like ribs basted in the sauce while they are being cooked at Williamson Bros, but no extra sauce added.
I took a group of, I think, 14 golf buddies from all over to Williamson Bros once and it went over very well.
the point im trying to make is no franchise with 7 locations in 2 states and a website are putting out the best tacos anywhere.
theres a food truck at a gas station on capital blvd thats got better tacos than that chain you mentioned…sorry
… to counter this, taqueria Del sol is good. And better than bar taco, pure, or some of the other more popular taco places.
They just aren’t the best.
I’m a Lil Reys fan… another great staple of Ford Fry
That’s an awful strong opinion with no evidence to back it up.
It’s not trying to be the taqueria in the back of a gas station with asada, lengua, pastor, etc. Go eat one of their fish, fried chicken or memphis tacos and get back to me.
It wasn’t always a chain. Started at one location and lines were so long that they kept opening new ones.
im sure they are good…i just have a hard time believing the best taco in a city as diverse as ATL is coming from a chain with 7 locations…thats all
thats why its an opinion and not a factual statement
for real though, next time youre on capital blvd hit up the taco truck in the gas station parking lot near 440
The lines are still stupid long. Whether it’s the Brookhaven location or the Cheshire BLVD one.
Atl BBQ gets beat to hell by our respective news and publications outlets but if we must,
Honestly I dont think any one of these is better than the other just different. But they all hold their own in the world of BBQ
Heirloom is most unique
Fox Bros is #1 for food and drinks
Community Q is just solid BBQ
Greater Good has best smoked wings
Havent been to B’s unfortunately
Now, are there more traditional places that do traditional tacos exceptionally well in ATL? Sure. El Rey and Chicago on Buford Hwy. are great for that.
But for the creativity, quality of ingredients, consistency… TDS is tops for me.
I may be an outlier, but B’s was very disappointing. I have been twice to the pre-fire location.
I like Heirloom the best, but Fox Bros as a close second.
Not gonna lie… I eat bar taco the most… only because the west mid location is literally across the street from my office
Should tell @Fore20 all he needs to know!
@Fore20 - have you tried Gym Tacos? Orange food truck near intersection of Six Forks and Wake Forest. Incredible.
Tacos are best had at the taquerias in shitty strip malls. Sorry to sound like that guy but its kinda true. edit: responded to wrong message
I love Taqueria del Sol, but even they don’t call themselves “Mexican” food. The food is tasty, reasonably priced, and super-consistent (which is rare).
I like Bartaco and won’t judge you for that at all. Gets expensive fast there.
if you can buy a phone card while you wait, they are usually pretty good
I’m here for the boujee vs. authentic taco talk, but I think you’re taking too strong of a position - even the non-chain authentic street taco joints have websites and food delivery app options now.
Sure, and I didn’t say they were - just the best tacos. Certainly not where you’re going for enchiladas (though they have 'em), fajitas, huge cheap margaritas, etc etc
