Trap Draw : Airports 4.1 now out

Qatar is usually a good deal via American (AA) points. I’d look into those cards from Citi/Barclays. It’s 70k O/W in Business to Doha from the US. Or alternatively can use Avios, which could be from Chase/Amex/Capital One. Just find one with a nice sign up bonus which is probably Amex.

CDG is the worst major airport in Europe for a transfer. Terrible layout, complete pain on the ass if you have to change terminals, buses usually necessary. Like Dulles, but French. You have my sympathies.

It’s just not the time or place.

Dulles - woof.

Underground united lounge anyone??

Paging @sundaybag to give a quick update on the new MCI terminal. Do’s Dont’s and arrival/departure/drop off/parking sitch-nashe.

Capital One lounges objectively look pretty nice but I’m having trouble getting over the whole “it’s capital one there’s no way this is actually good” thing.

I thought we were in for a mess flying out of MCO on a Saturday during spring break. But we had a shockingly easy time in the Precheck line at MCO. Also had a nice chat with Matt Adams of Golf Channel while in that line. Now at our gate and flight is on time.

After 5 days here, I’m good with not returning to Orlando (or any other theme park) for a very long time.

Flying overseas for the first time here in a bit from DFW-LHR for around a week in London area for work. Luckily I’m getting by with no checked bags excited to see LHR.

Also pissed my company didn’t put me on the BA A380

If work’s paying for the trip I wouldn’t have a problem with adding checked bags normally, but London Heathrow’s ground ops are notoriously inconsistent, so probably a good move just going with carry-on there is probably a good move.

What plane are you on instead of an A380?

First time in the hometown US (WestJet/Delta) lounge - Calgary YYC

International flight prices right now. TOUGH scene.

Trying to get tickets for Perth-LHR return this summer (Jun/July) which is obviously pretty late notice. Pre-Covid you’d be looking at ~AU$1500 return for an adult ticket. Will be me & the 3 yr old going, best I can find is roughly AU$7500 for both of us. Will get to go through Changi though more than likely, rather than Dubai which I hate.

Big yikes.

Yeah it’s bad. Gotta play the points game if possible.

I liked Dubai. Didn’t LOVE it. But I flew in and outta there almost a dozen times and found it efficiently inoffensive.

Need some input here fellas…flying from Columbus to Charleston for a little Kiawah/Caledonia then down to Hilton Head in mid-May. Couple C suite rounds that I am really looking forward to.

Originally booked on American through Charlotte with an hour and 10 minute layover. I get particular about flying with my clubs and layover times - anxiety through the roof. They switched my take off time from Columbus to a half hour later so now I only have a 40 min layover in Charlotte. Should be good, but hedging my bets I could go Delta through Atlanta and have an hour and a half layover, better guaranteeing my clubs make it.

Is it worth switching things around?

I would probably take the longer layover but your bags have a better chance of making a 40 minute connection then you do most of the time. If you’re in the back of the airplane, your bags will be off before you are!

Delta > American and ATL > CLT. Unless the price difference is massive, the choice is clear.

Keep in mind that your layover is actually from the time you get off the plane to the time the boarding door closes on your next flight, which is usually ~20 min prior to takeoff. Check which gates in CLT you are expected to arrive at and depart from. If they’re at opposite ends of the airport, both you and your bags could potentially be in for a tough time. You could also run into the same problem at ATL, but at least that airport is designed with transfers in mind and you can realistically get from the ass end of F gates to A gates in 25 minutes thanks to the underground tram.

Alternatively just send your clubs in advance via ShipSticks or something.

A curiosity more than advice - was there any consideration of Breeze nonstop service? If so, was it the limited travel dates or poor on-time performance that steered you away from that option? I’ve looked at Breeze as a more local option, but on-time performance is (Big Randy voice) #notgood

Shoutout Burbank. Went from my buddy’s car to eating lunch by my gate in 18 minutes.

LAX is a hellscape. Well worth the extra 25 minute drive to fly out of here.
