Me and my fiancé are looking to fly from Philadelphia to Jakarta via Qatar Airways part of the American Alliance for our honeymoon in September. Any thought on the best credit card for us to sign up for. Looking at Amex Platinum (she has near perfect credit) and the American credit card am I missing any other good offerings? Thanks All!

Really depends on your spending besides this trip. Amex Plat is great if you do a lot of travel (5X points) but there are others that may be better for overall spending. Wife and I primarily use the Chase Sapphire Reserve (3X points for travel over 10X if booked through Chase) but there are a lot of other benefits. Check the https://refuge.nolayingup.com/t/credit-cards-which-one-should-i-choose/48110 thread.

Big fan of FlightAware for these situations. Throw the flight number in there and can check the incoming flight. It also typically updates for any delays, etc. faster than Southwest’s app does.

One of the plethora of ways Southwest has inferior technology to the rest of the airlines.

Shocker but the flight was delayed a half hour. Not great SWA but about what I expected.

Heard so much talk about how amazing the Delta terminal is at LGA that I went with the longer layover at LGA vs. JFK just so I could check it out, might be crazy but the hype seems real

Who’s ready for the CAE (Columbia, SC) rocking chairs as we get close to Masters week?

They have rocking chairs?!?! Kinda wish I was flying now!

The new terminal is definitely great.

BUT, the absolutely no bartenders thing feels so dystopian. It works fine for the big ones where people are kind of moving around and you don’t notice it as much, but they have a few smaller, quieter ones and I was almost creeped out by how strange the atmosphere was. It feels like you’re getting uber eats delivered from the LGA ghost kitchen.

Anyone flown through Paris? I have an hour layover there for my honeymoon later this year that I’m quite nervous about.

Went through CDG May 2022 also on honeymoon en route to Nice. Our layover was 1.5-2 hours I think. It was fine, but I remember it was a somewhat far walk from our arrival gate through security and to our next departure gate.

I know there are a handful here that are not fans of CDG and have had more experience going through there.

Thanks, I have an 8:20 arrival and 9:30 departure, very much not looking forward to it

The Vegas airport stinks. Crappy pre check situation. Poor food options. Just all around bad. At least in terminal B.

S/O to my hitters at DTW and Delta - 20 minutes to get from departures drop off to seat on plane with time for a coffee and snack at the SkyClub.

It’s a top tier airport.

DTW is possibly the most underrated airport in the country. Everyone just assumes all things Detroit are a disgrace, which is usually true but not when it comes to the McNamara terminal (though McNamara himself was a massive disgrace). Also the rental car situation is an abomination. Hey cold weather cities, put the fucking rental cars in a garage attached to the terminal pls.

I’m certainly spoiled living in MSP and traveling back to see family in MI through DTW. Every other airport feels subpar.

I rarely fly anymore. When I do it’s DTW and RIC. I am so spoiled.

If she’s marrying you I’m sure she likes you. There’s nothing to be nervous about. Just relax and be yourself and you’ll be fine.
