The main problem I found with the GHIN app is that a LOT of courses in my area don’t even give you the option to add hole-by-hole scores or stats. So I use the 18 Birdies app and it goes a great job of that and the GPS seems really sold. It’s a bummer to have to enter scores twice, but really, the GHIN just ends up being my official handicap tracker and 18 Birdies for stats. Until GHIN steps it up, not much we can do.
As a movie aficionado, what are your thoughts on Black Hawk Down?
Truly a random question and I could probably pose this in the movie thread, but it is my #1 most re-watchable movie of all time and I’m trying to figure out what that says about me, considering your above list.
Talk to me. If it goes well that’ll be lovely, but if it doesn’t then it’ll give us something to laugh about/at.
This is our first year in the UK using the world handicap system, or your guys handicap system, so interesting to see how that works. Our Scottish Golf app for recording scores has been a bit of a disaster so I’ll go with precision pro at the recommendation of Soly to do my stuff.
Never actually seen it.
That tells me a lot about myself.
Add it to the list, though.
Isn’t it weird that a movie about one of the most harrowing and helpless situations military guys have even been in, is so rewatchable? It’s not like a fun, lighthearted romp yet it’s just so well done.
I also have a ‘new’ movie goal for the year and Letterboxd is a great tool/process for tracking. Definitely botched some of my first reviews before I realized you can give half stars.
Edit: would be nice to make a Letterboxd group like we have for the Whoop.
That’s truly the best way to put it.
Part of why I really like Behind Enemy Lines as well, although it wasn’t nearly as well done as BHD.
Also…
FUCKIN’ IRENE!
Strength of the cast goes a long way to making that movie rewatchable…just pulling it up again on IMDB and I forgot how many people are in it.
Listen, feeeerrrrr suuuureee
Deeeeep, deep cast.
We had a bit of a Rewatchables thread. Don’t think BHD was ever brought up.

Inside Llewelyn Davis was one of the most enjoyable movies I watched in 2020, if not my favorite.
I’m using the GHIN app or scorecards if not a handicap round (for whatever reason) and then tracking all of that data on a spreadsheet. It’s one extra step but will be nice to know scoring average, basic stats (GIR, Fairways, Putts per Hole).
Haven’t gotten to the pod yet, but am I reading that you bailed on King of Staten Island? My wife and I really enjoyed that one!
Haven’t been able to listen to the pod yet but @djpie are you using something to track and review all the movies you watch? I made a similar pledge about movies this year and have started using https://letterboxd.com/ over the last few weeks. Already have 30ish movies on their so far.
Just shows the depth of work when films like No Country, Miller’s Crossing, or O’ Brother Where Art Thou can’t crack the off the dome Top 5.
For non-Simpsons people who couldn’t picture my prediction/dream scenario for @Tron’s man bun.
@djpie from the top rope elbow drop 1.5 stars for The Color of Money #hottake D.J. Piehowski’s film diary • Letterboxd
