The main bummer for me watching on the TV vs watching during the day on my PC is there’s no live comment thread on my TV. Would have to simultaneously watch on another device to have the live YouTube comments rolling.

Kind of wish it was more like 9 PM ET for us West Coast folk, too
would be cool to see how many folks watched the live premier at noon vs 8 pm
naturally the audience will be bigger for this season than it was for the last as the fan base has grown, etc so there has got to be some kind of increase in live viewers factored in as a result of that
also does the 8 pm release somehow cast a wider net to first time viewers some how?
im sure theres plenty of data supporting the move to the 8 pm release, doubt they would have done it just to do it
Absolutely no idea, but like you said, I’m sure they’re not just moving it willy nilly. There was surely some thought behind it.

I’m trying to decide whether to take the Jeopardy online test tonight (at 8 eastern/5 pacific) or just wait and do it one of the next two nights to watch live.

I’m a teacher so watching the premiers during the day was not something I could do. Would anticipate all day until I got home to watch. Echoing the “better on TV” as well.

I work from home, so even the noon premiere was on a TV. YouTube on a TV was a game changer and now I don’t even want to watch videos on my iPad. Normally I would be fine with the 8 PM release, but of course I was free today at noon, but I’ll be in a meeting tonight at 8.

Guis, I know it’s difficult to handle, but trust me…it’s ok to catch the episodes a few hours after they’re released. I’ve done it many times this year. I’m still alive, my life was not ruined, I didn’t get the shakes.
It’ll all be ok.

I would have 0 problem with this. Just fire it up when I get in the office.
My reasoning for preferring the 12pm slot to the 8pm is twofold:
- it gives me something to do during lunch
- Moving to 8pm means I have to watch it 8 hours later. I want it ASAP!!
