Tourist Sauce: The Carolinas

At times, but I think that is the case anywhere. We have the opening times blocked for members. and i can view the tee sheets at both courses at any time. If PN is full, MP will not be. If they are both, we also have a short course. I do enjoy getting around with guests though. I mean why not, most of them are on dream golf trips who in turn invite me to other destinations they are going next.

Dumb question, if you hit shots off the dormant Bermuda fairways will you end up with thousands of bare divots because the grass is dormant and not growing to fill in the divots?

until it starts growing again, yes

Good to know. Typically people get angry when their ball ends up in a divot. Will this not be exacerbated x 10000 if the fairway is full of divots that don’t grow in? Could certainly see people not wanting to play courses with those conditions.

Not woke but I would assume a ton of people would feel that way

I would think that would be a serious issue at courses that get a lot of winter play, right? And it’s not like it would grow back right away. So even when the warm weather comes back, your landing areas would be bare dirt for a while.

i dont think its any different than summer play and divots, is it?

if people arent filling or replacing their divots, depending on the grass type, youre gonna run the risk of hitting into divots from previous rounds

im sure the vast majority of courses that get a lot of winter play, places/destinations like pinehurst, etc are going to have people there who are pretty thorough about filling their divots

maintenance crews, caddies, reasonably respectful golfers, etc

You guys are leaving something out about dormant bermuda. My home course doesn’t overseed, so when it rains there’s nothing growing to soak up the water. It stays muddy all winter because there’s nowhere for the water to go.

Dormant bemuda is a great surface to play off, if it’s dry. If it’s not, you’re just playing mudball.

Well my thinking was in the winter those divots won’t grow in at all for then entire course of the winter

In the summer those divots can fill in because the grass actively growing

right, but if they are filled then its better than nothing; even in the summer, with actively growing grass, if the divot isnt filled, you run the risk of hitting out of a divot

This is how she gets into it. My wife never cared before Tourist Sauce: California but after that she was very interested in watching Strapped and TS: Ireland.

Really excited to see the Mid-Pines, Pine Needles, and Southern Pines episodes. Such a good trio of courses in the Sandhills.
