Tourist Sauce Season 8 - Scandinavia: The heartbeats were real!

I loved the first episode. My wife is just now getting into golf but the idea of a remote golf trip doesn’t appeal to her. I’m excited about seeing a possible destination that allows golf to compliment a great trip.

Also, @Tron I loved the “Guns Up” on the preview pod. Looking forward to seeing Ludvig.

I think based on the number of replies and debate through only one episode, it shows the boys picked the perfect location.

Yeah man… like if you can’t get with Tourist Sauce: Tron’s Family Reunion, maybe it’s like… too deep for you man.

Reading your post helped me put into perspective how I feel about this season. The other seasons where showing you some little known but equally as awesome options to add to a golf trip. This season seems more like it’ll show us really cool places to play golf while on a Scandinavian vacation. Both are great ways to produce a show and I’m probably more excited for this season than I was Michigan. It’s just a different way of looking at things and I can see why maybe the more hardcore golfers might not like it as much. But that’s another reason I like TS, it’s not really a hardcore golf travel show.

I’ve never heard of or watched Ginella’s Journeys.

I have watched all TS seasons including Ireland, Scotland, Oregon multiple times. I watch Ireland and Scotland all the time as like background when I’m picking up after the kids are in bed. So I guess I’d identify as pretty firmly in the TS camp. But maybe I’m wrong. (Not to mention the unreasonable amount of NLU merch I have or this nest membership)

I’m active on many of the trip planning threads here. I have a spreadsheet of golf trips I’d be lucky to complete over my lifetime. TS has been a nice enhancer and informer of many of these trips, some of which I’ve been able to take and others that are still a dream.

I’ll still watch the series and maybe Scandinavia will make the spreadsheet.

Craic on.

Why does everything ever have to be dissected and analyzed? They went to Scandinavia to film a series. It’s looks beautiful and seems beautifully shot and told after one episode.

This place would be a lot more boring and I’d have to do a lot more actual work during the work day if we didn’t debate useless topics to death.

It’s pretty simple: I like golf. I like traveling. I like NLU. I like learning about new places.

Therefore, I love Tourist Sauce. It was my gateway drug to NLU and The Nest.

There was something the guys mentioned at the start of the TS podcast that really resonated with me, about how when they take these golf trips, no matter how many great courses they play, it seems to be off course moments that resonate in the memory.

I certainly haven’t taken as many golf trips or played nearly as many wonderful courses that the NLU dads have and yet I still totally get this. I went to Seattle earlier this year and very much enjoyed Chambers Bay, Gold Mountain, White Horse, and other courses we played. But it’s the ferry ride and the evening downtown that resonate in my memory of that week.

Seriously. I don’t know who coined that phrase, but just because it exists does NOT mean we have to use it.

Back to the important stuff. Antonio Alfonseca— great pull by Soly. Former Cub!

What I enjoyed about the first episode and look forward to the rest of the season is that they are showing me a place that I most likely will never get to go to. The quality, production, and that NLU really cares shines through. That keeps my interest in a place I won’t see.

I’ll be more interested in another stateside TS season because I can possibly go to the same place, but the break to show me an another place in the world is welcome.

Great work

I’ll watch whatever they decide to do in the future but I think they’ve already done all the domestic TS spots I would be excited for. Keep going to far flung destinations overseas and repeats (Ireland).

similar…it’s definitely more attainable for me to head to Scandinavia, but I have zero hope of ever going to Bandon or California for golf

On the same token…I’m never doing a MI golf trip. I live in new england and those are primetime months here. I still loved watching TS for the buddies trip aspect and absolutely love the competition. Count me in as one of those sickos that loves playing for something and I watch for that.

As someone who is planning a major golf trip to Scotland to celebrate a life achievement because it’s more feasible to plan a golf trip to Europe than America in many ways, most notably the price of good golf and the density of it in a place like Scotland…

I love this season and the concept. It’s an area of the world I know little to nothing about golf-wise, but that looks like it’s going to be phenomenal. From a cultural/travel perspective, it’s cooler to me than the GB&I stuff because I’ve been to England and Ireland already, so the stuff in the British Isles, while awesome, isn’t as fresh for me. It’s also visually glorious, and as an NLU fan (we all pay for this website/membership, amirite?!?!) the fact that @Tron is, at least from what was described on the pod, exectuting an absolute tour de f******* force on the logistics side during this trip - that’s what I’m here for.

This season looks great.

When they do England, and they will do England, folks will complain. This is the internet.
