Ah, THAT is what you meant? The Vinny Chase bit got me super confused. Was wondering what kinds of mushrooms you ate before writing.

The ONLY issue I might have with this TS is that in all other episodes, even Australia, I could think about how I’d love to add these courses to my bucket list and eventually cross some of them off. That’s fairly unlikely here but it doesn’t detract from the season at all because it’s aspirational. Maybe I will get out there some day and play golf while I’m there! (Though, in describing Lofoten to my wife in hopes she’d get excited, the travel time just to get there was clearly a turnoff.)

I just love watching golf but also watching these guys have fun together and goof off and watching DJ put on a masterclass of storytelling.

Yeah, but she’s way into going to Australia, Tasmania, NZ. There’s a lot of things there she’d be into, and wouldn’t care when I’m playing golf. Lofoten is SO remote that she just kind of said she’d have to be convinced. And could be! But on it’s own, Lofoten doesn’t hold sway the way that those countries you named do for her. I get that.

Just tossing it out there, but if you named each season and asked me the video moment I remember the most, almost all of them would not revolve around something on the course.

WAT? Playing different, accessible, public golf (Bro Hof Slot excepted) in a location that is visually stunning, culturally interesting & has a family tie to one of them is “arrogant and out of touch”, yet going to somewhere in the UK where you can’t have lunch if you’re not wearing the correct clothes would be a good idea?

Like I said it’s just my opinion that id rather watch a season at a different more bucket list golf trip region.

To clarify my take was that the choice to do Scandinavia was either: at best a departure from the “brand” or focus I like about the series (I think a reasonable comment) and at worst the selection was arrogant and out of touch (spicy take, less reasonable probably). Not going to take it any further cause I don’t want to pile on, I know the crew worked super hard on it. It’s sorta like your favorite band releases an album you don’t love right away. It’ll probably grow on me. I know I’m in the minority here and I’m not changing any minds.

I said several times I will enjoy the season and Scandinavia is gorgeous and they’ll showcase it well. I’ll never go there for a golf trip, and the potential trip aspect is appealing to me as a viewer.

It’s ok to have different opinions.

It’s also only one episode in so I could be proven wrong!

There’s dozens of threads on here where we talk critically about other shows or content. Just thought I’d share a contrary opinion here.

Totally fair, and the Refuge doesn’t need to be an echo chamber/circle jerk for the fellas, but that take just felt very weird to me.

You’re welcome to your opinion, @TeddyPargame, but it seems that maybe the things you like about Tourist Sauce may mean you’re more in the “Ginella’s Journeys” camp. It seems we just have very divergent opinions of what Tourist Sauce is and what we want it to be.

The beauty of it is, the content creator gets to decide what they want it to be. Everyone else just has to decide wether or not to watch. People complained about Lost, GoT, and the Sopranos too, but they still watched…
