Shout out to Peg!
Fantastic episode. My favourite one of the season so far and captured so much of what I loved about TS: Orgeon.
Great episode - Harbor Springs/Petoskey has played a big part in my life. Been going up there for almost my entire life, staying down the hill from Boyne - shout out Harbor Cove. I owe a lot of my love of golf to my time up north. Pretty much learned the game at the par 3 course at Boyne, while playing with my mom and grandma. But beyond that par 3 I didnât get to play any other Boyne courses until the summer after I graduated from high school.
Just played the Hills course for my first time this last summer and had a blast. If the early morning tee sheet is as wide open next summer is it was this year I envision Iâll play a handful of rounds there this summer.
Anyway, really enjoyed this episode made me think of and smile about a lot of the good memories I have of up north.
i feel like we met Mr. Carter in an episode of somethingâŠ
Old souls are hard to come by these days. Loved that episode.
âJust the shop donkey, we called him, just put him in there and let him do his thing.â
Bravo @djpie for your best work yet, @Randy for being true, and the rest of the crew for this stupid journey weâre on.
I know I have heard about Peggy Schusterâs famous Brunswick Stew and she has been on a pod.
@Tron I know itâs not a t-shirt butâŠ
Youâre costing me a metric fuckton of cash with all of these designs.
This one hit a little too close to home being an accountant.
Hey! Accounting buddies!
Wow, went into it for the same reasons as me with no direction after high school!
Realizing I donât love it, but Iâm still in my job and probably wonât leave the profession.
Randy, Iâm happy you got out. I wish I was brave enough to up and quit and spend a year figuring it all out.
I loved 99% of this episode but that tree line reminds me of the movie The VVitch so I may not be able to sleep tonight.
Just a masterclass in content. Well done boys.
God damn this episode really has me wanting to just up and quit my job tomorrow
It definitely makes me never want to send email inquiries about work opportunities ever again
Really hit home with me. Same university as the big guy, working in public accounting, have to deal with summer busy season. Had me really questioning if Iâll be a shop donkey in the near future.
Really great to get a peek behind the curtain at @Randyâs life. Special episode. Must be weird to have that kind of bio out there on Youtube. Iâm sure he never expected a 30 for 30 on himself.
Also a very comfy visual episode for me. One of the courses where Iâm a member (sister course to my home club) is an Arthur Hills course called Towne Lake Hills, and some of the holes looked familiar enough to seem comfortable to me. Of course, Boyne Highlands is undoubtably better than Towne Lake- much better- but thereâs enough similarity to make it feel okay.
I believe he said it on one of the early nest pods and I know it happens from time to time, but Randyâs story of doing nothing for that accounting consulting firm for over a month is fucking hilarious.
I have a similar time in my career when I was about that age, too. Started an IT consulting position at Delta Airlines on a Monday. On Wednesday, before Iâd even gotten the lay of the land, they had what they called âBlack Wednesdayâ and laid off a bunch of senior employees, including the boss who hired me. I was reporting to nobody. I wandered around a bit with nothing to do. I found a project that wanted some help and I helped out while searching for a new job. After a couple of months with no chain of command and no real job expectations, I left and went to a new job.
One thing I vividly remember is sitting in my car for hours listening to Payne Stewartâs last flight while âworkingâ for that job.
