At least on golf trips, I’m usually staying with or very close to buddies and enough of my group is on time that there’s someone helping the crew get there on time. The slackers have been identified and someone is usually dealing with it.
Gotta be prepared to leave a gui behind. I get the anxiety though. We used to a ski trip through work. Our CEO had a ski-in, ski-out house, and we’d get about 10-12 guys to go. I’m convinced that the only reason it worked is because we avoided the stress caused by waiting for late sleepers in the morning, or waiting for guys who wanted one more run in the afternoons. If someone wanted to go and the others weren’t ready, you just walked out the back door.
The wire taught us you arrive early to check out the scene so you don’t get got.
Randy would definitely be got if he didn’t have anyone looking out for him.
And @Cody would be the one responsible for the gottening.
RORY CODY
I like to be early, but I also have anxiety about being first or too early. So I usually try to time it just right and hope nothing goes wrong.
The only counter I’d have for this, if I’m playing match play, I might play a hole completely differently than stroke play. For example I might get super aggressive knowing par is going to lose. Which means potentially more double bogeys. I post scores when playing best ball, but not when playing match play.
Separated at birth.
My wife literally said “I didn’t need to see that”.
Can’t wait to bust out this move during my next meetup.

Truly a testament to how great Cody’s reaction (and the rest of the episode, really) was that it has taken over 36 hours for Tron’s whatever-that-was to be pointed out on here.
Actually I was out of town yesterday, my apologies
Exactly
Almost none of the rounds I walk by myself I keep score. I’ll drop or play a second ball, etc. Practice rounds, really.
You can post a score, particularly if the hybrid tees you play are within 300 yards of a rated set of tees. See section (f) of Appendix G.

Catching up on this season and what putter is tron using?
The chart…the math…oh my god, that’s @tigergolftraveler’s music
This is really interesting to think about. Or, maybe I’ve just had too much caffeine in the past 12 hours. Either way, the clusterstorm in my head right now makes me want to write a longform essay about it… and at the same time makes me want to just give up golf.
I’m genuinely curious about what your reasoning is. It seems philosophical, and at the same time just a personal preference thing.
I don’t do the maths
