Tourist Sauce Season 7: Michigan Wine and Dine

Ballyneal doesn’t even show up for the handicap calculator on GHIN (unless I am missing something).

I’m the same way. My wife is a more type A person than I am, but that is the one thing that will always get me. I insist on being 15-20 minutes early to everything and it drives her nuts.

It was engrained in me a young age when our baseball practices STARTED at a certain time, so you had the be there and warmed up before the practice start time.

Which it total bullshit. I am a hyper punctual person. To me there’s no excuse for perpetually being late. If there is a valid reason, at least let people know. I don’t know if you’ve heard of hurry sickness, but I’m a textbook case. Always feeling like I’m rushing even when not necessary. Sometimes I wish I had the give zero fucks attitude about other peoples time that some of my friends do, but it’s not in my DNA. I’ve long ago adopted an every man for himself strategy on golf trips and it has served me well. It’s the only way I can maintain sanity. If I get caught up on other guys lackadaisical schedule it’s awful. This all sounds like I’m not much fun to party with haha. I can assure you it’s not the case. Just be on damn time.

Good to know I am not the only one who does the math of: event is at 12, figure 15 minutes to get through security, 45 minutes of travel time, 20 minutes to find a parking spot. Need to be out of the house by 10:30. Better leave at 10, just to be safe.

This is why I always tell people that marrying someone who travels the same way you do might be the most important thing you do.

I haven’t heard that term, but yeah it sounds about right. To some degree, unless it directly impacts me (like, the starter won’t let us off because one of the guys isn’t there yet) I try to just let it go on this part. I can’t make someone care about something he or she doesn’t prioritize.

That’s correct. Can’t post scores from Ballyneal on GHIN because there are no rated tees. The numerous teeing options give you so many different looks at a hole (and an 18-hole composition) though. A true “this is a feature, not a bug” situation.

I remember my grandfather telling me the most valuable thing someone has is their time, and that being late to something shows people that you don’t value their time. Now, with the Big Guy, my guess is he may feel that time is an artificial construct and that worrying about it is a burden he doesn’t need in life. What is time anyway?

Have you ever holed out twice from a bunker in a round previously @MerchCzar?

It’s as simple as wanting to post a score. Hybrid tees, and thus something not on the scorecard, won’t let me post a score (it’s why I’m against Ballyneal out of principle).

It was the pause for me, where he considered it for a second. Just superb.

My dad was a colonel in the Army. He would always say, “If you not five minutes early, you’re five minutes late.”

Thanks for clarifying.

Or cut them out of your life. In my house we have real time and “[insert relatives’ name] time” which is a way to adjust start times for people who are habitually +1hr late to almost everything.

This right here. Very much identified with Cody’s “No” when told to wake him up earlier. Huge pet peeve of mine.

Cam someone explain to me what the heck Andy was talking about his game being “cagey”?? Or it is “KG”??

Off the record, yes

Cagey, like sneaky …

I was confused by this. Thought cagey meant like nervous or neurotic like someone locked in a cage.
