I gotta say last night’s episode was Fantastic. It just hit all the right chords at all the right moments. Tough day at school didn’t finish working till 10:30 and then finally I cracked a beer and got downright emotional to some drone shots. I think the most stellar thing was the music in last night’s episode, all the different themes blended perfectly. That mini swap on the first hole into the building guitar! @djpie deserves an award

I find this a little surprising. I personally find that if I walk away from an episode jonesing to play the course, the video did what it was intended to do. (Not hard at any course at Bandon) But this whole season feels like the story has been the experience, while keeping an appropriate eye on the competition (not necessarily making the competition the story), not to mention the quality of production. Even if you have been to Bandon, I feel like this just triggers all the feels of wanting to get back.

If you watched it yesterday, the YouTube algorithim hasn’t kicked in yet. Overnight it decides how to monetize the fuck out of everything, notably if it decides there is music that isn’t licensed to use

The vibe would be totally different had the wind been up, 16 green is the windiest part of the entire Bandon property (Neil noted the hat casualties down in the gorse). The starter mentioned to us that a caddie placed someone’s clubs in the wrong spot near 16 green and they were blown away (ouch).
You saw the windmills that used to be there in a photo in the video, apparently the wind got so strong that they were destroyed by it.

I feel like this was discussed before but especially at Pac Dunes with the wind so high, there probably just wasn’t very much usable audio from those days, hence they went with more voiceover. SR episode had less wind, more usable on course stuff, less narration.
There has been lots of over-reaction to the lack of “chirps” and “banter” between the guise in this season. I think we are seeing why maybe people need to try and keep their spicy hot takes for until the end of the season and not freak out every time there’s an episode that slightly differs from what they prefer.
If you didn’t like this episode you are a soulless automaton built only to destroy fun.

I am not freaking out. Just sharing that I’ve liked some of the episodes more than others.
If you read it again, I said that I loved the Sheep Ranch episode. I wasn’t a fan of Old Mac or Pacific Dunes.

I have not seen any hot takes or over reaction regarding this. Not even criticism. Just general observations, and one I agree with. I think everyone understands the wind noise may be a factor. This season is awesome and love every second of it. But I would enjoy it more with the usual amount of banter we have seen in past seasons.
