Tourist Sauce Season 3: LA to San Francisco

This is what I was just wondering. Do you have any idea what a touring pro pays a swing coach? If you’re going on the road with them, basically being on call, and watching as they eat popsicles in front of you without sharing that must carry a hefty premium.

Curious how many online lessons he does too, because I am sure he can do quite a few at a time.

That only costs being known as the greatest coach of all time.

We had a guy in the Chicago thread go to him at $350/hr. He said new students were $500/hr and he was only getting the $350 rate because he was grandfathered in at that.

Good on him for raising prices if people are going to pay $500/hr. Supply and demand baby.

I think it’s a pretty wealthy area, he could probably get $1,000 from the parents that think their kid will be a star on tour.

I’d like to commend @Randy for his ball security in Uncle Juice country. Ball security = job security.

I wasn’t posting that as a criticism. Charge what the market will bear. If our jobs would pay us $500/hr or $350/hr I think we’d all choose the higher rate. I’m sure Wayne Gretzky isn’t having to skip any meals to pay it.

Oh I know. I was agreeing with you!

I gotta be honest, it is a testament to Randy’s athletic ability he is single digits with that swing.

Great episode! The production has taken a giant leap this season.
My only criticism is that it feels a little too edited - easily could have been stretched to 30 mins.

Would have genuinely loved to see the entire lessons with Gankas, specifically with Neil and Tron

I was sold on GG being worth 500 an hour after watching the episode.

And more power to him - it’s California so half of that will go to taxes. And the Cost of living there is probably a game in which i am not familiar with. Plus having his own business means he probably has to have an aggressive retirement investment plan, and even probably pays an arm and a leg for healthcare

—oh, Sorry for the unrelated tangent about running your own business and how tough it actually is to get ahead.

yeah, $500 an hour in LA is probably pretty comparable to the $200/hr i pay in Omaha.

Yes can confirm California is crazy expensive and I live in Nor Cal which would definitely be the “cheaper” area of California. Still a basic track home in a neighborhood with no back yard at all crammed in starts at like 350k. That’s for a small one though like 12-1300 sq ft. I find it hard to fathom how anyone can live any type of comfortable lifestyle out here while making less than 100k a year.

people will pay a lot of money for the chance to play good golf, whether they are professional players or not

GG’s instagram is such a good marketing tool.

Don’t think I could ever take a lesson from GG. He sounds and looks like my neighbor who is a turd of a human.

Not sure how to really measure this but I disagree. If you look at government pay based on location SF is the highest in the country. Sure it may not have the highest priced real estate but finding an affordable place to live near SF is near impossible.

Not sure the bay area is “Nor Cal,” it’s kind of it’s own region.
