yep, you’re right. I looked back and it was February I was hoping to connect them with a guy out there at The Meadow Club.
This is so real. Even if I knock it in, if I don’t hit it well enough, I find mild agitation and worry about the next putt.
On TFE, Ogilvy and AJ have talked about this exact thing being why Paul Casey and Adam Scott aren’t better putters - they hit it so close, every time it doesn’t go in, it creates mental scar tissue. On the other hand, someone who hits it further out (ie a miss from 10 ft. vs 20 ft.) doesn’t create scar tissue but rather bolsters their confidence.
i dont know how i could cope with trying to line up a line on a ball without getting in my own head. I just know i would take forever trying to line it up, then id take forever wondering if i should trust where im lined up.
I can see how it would help on a 15 foot breaker where youre no so concerned about an exact spot. But on a 9 footer that breaks 6 inches, my head would explode.
Really enjoying the Coors and Miller Lite looks from the crew. Men of the people. I’m a Banquet man myself.
We can only assume C-Suite @Soly has Pappy Van Winkle in that Solo cup.
I wish we would have had that putt in slo-mo. Could have gone viral on those satisfying/ASMR Instagram pages.
it still makes it easier for me. But I get that.
I totally believe it helps people. i just dont think i’d be one of those people.
Fantastic episode today. I knew when the music started with @Randy over his shot how it was going to end.
I love how well they edit and frame these videos that are 1:1 challenges. Last week the music was complete BROTHER V BROTHER and it was intense, where today with Tron vs Randy it was more light hearted and encouraging … I’m going to play Pasatiempo in October for the first time and this is going to be on repeat from here until then. Such a good job by everyone. Can’t wait for Tron vs DJ.
Randy wearing the Fowler orange next week is going to be epic. I know he’s not in the feature group but they really have to lean into that coverage.
Favorite episode of the season so far. I’m sure it’s a completely different experience playing those greens so slow vs their normal quickness.
This might have been my favorite episode of TS yet. Probably the best capturing of a golf course via video that the guys have ever done.
Nothing about the episode took the attention away from the golf course, which was the clear star (and rightfully so). Great complimentary music as well, @rmattgolden or @djpie.
Great episode.
Well done highlighting such a great course. Pasa is so damn great. You play that front nine and you’re like, “Damn this is a fantastic golf course!” And then you’re like, “Oh, now, I get to play the really good 9.”
Was weird to see it playing when the greens weren’t lightning fast. Could tell even from some of the putts on the practice green that it was different. But I’ve only ever been there in summer. The difference in conditions on Cali courses between winter and summer is something else. Place still looked pure, though.
having learned how long it takes to edit this has me tempering my “PLEASE MAKE THESE VIDEOS 2-3X LONGER”
but not completely…COME ON, LONGER!
Also completely in on @Soly’s theory that Pasa is dinged in the rankings because it offers tee times to the public.
In fact, the entire rankings should be called into question based off how low it is. It’s not even in the top 100 courses in America according to GD and is 16th in their public rankings, behind fucking Shadow Creek and TPC Sawgrass.
@greebs be aware, greens get punched at Pasa mid September. You mentioned October you are coming out. Now through September it gets better and better. I am really looking forward to watching this match tonight.
I think the par 70 dings it in some people’s minds (not mine!).
I’m not sure how anything could “ding it” it’s just so pure. Watching this episode hit me in the feels. I lipped out for birdie on 11 when I played there I almost cried haha. Really regretting not getting over there a couple weeks ago.
