Soly giving Neil strokes just feels gross.

You rule.

Also Last Dinosaurs are one of my favorite bands these days so hearing that in Episode 1 made me sure we were in for a treat and I was right!

Soly referred to the “trip” to King Island while on a TRIP to Australia. Part of me is mad and jealous, the other half is just happy for them.

“And no one wins, and that’s cricket”

Fucking awesome quote

Seeing Neil pull out the driver on 18 and pull it off, then do it again on the playoff hole was like a full character arc over 8 seasons of a TV show. You’re just waiting for the big miss (especially after 17) but our dude just piped two balls down there.

Great ending to the season, and a thoroughly enjoyable season!

I saw the driver and groaned.

But the Icarito might have his swing under control….

Just imagine where he’s at now with that dose of perspective too!

Was legit stunned to see Neil send driver with Soly in the bunker after his homage to TS Oregon (I think) on 17 tee. Sick seeing him pull them both off.

Glad Neil got the W. I fully expected that driver on 18 to be an absolute comical moment. Soly then proceeding to hit a miserable shot on 18 was brutal. Though Neil kinda fell apart on 16 and 17 to let him back in it.

Course looked awesome, but loved the competition aspect. Kept me in the whole episode. Cause the courses seemed to blend together after so many consecutive episodes.

I had a shitty range session tonight, that had me so down on golf, but it’s shit like this that brings me back. I wanna go do cool golf shit now.

Great season - I’m not sure I want to play kingston heath now

Oh I feel the opposite. There are some great courses where it’s fun to get your ass kicked. Some other courses that best you up aren’t nearly as fun. Kingston looked like a fun version of that to me. (Cape Wickham did not.)

Anyone else have 4 countries holding the number one spot in the “that’s the next trip” list because of TS season?

In the words of a terrible Australian, “please explain?!” :joy:

Figured @MerchCzar won after someone spotted the Golf Daddy hat when they were on ESPN (they were paid for that btw). Think Neil embodied every am golfer of just needing one shot on 18 to flip the mo’. Got a big turnover there and then just let the offense capitalize.

Also love @Soly and do believe the back injury was real, HOWEVA, if he was one of my buddies and was talking about the back injury while he wasn’t playing great and then never made mention of it after he started playing well, he would never hear the end of those jokes lol. Great episode and season though, very much enjoy this meaningless competition!

Soly’s back injury is 100% real. He struggled with it at NIT and I assumed it lingers and flair ups are never too far away.

Yeah, just found it funny. Could’ve been an editing thing as well where they just didn’t show any more shots of him mentioning it.

As a non-father, this dad-back thing sounds scary.

As a bystander to Neil on 18, it was a tough watch when I saw him pull out the driver. Especially when we all saw what happened on 17 (which would be dead on 18). His words of “I’ll go down swinging gentlemen” was priceless.

Also it wasn’t noted as much but Soly’s 2nd shot on 18 was truly impressive. His driving iron went in between the bunkers and had a tricky lie. Watching him hit it and use the slope on 18 green to birdie distance felt like the nail on the coffin.

Soly probably should not have used driver on 8 or 11. Also Neil’s approach on 12 was the best of the day before 18 approach. He held such a small portion of the green.

Truly magical stuff.

Edit - Spelling and Neil was in a few too many bunkers.

That first hole is so wide, I get why he pulled driver. He ended up at the end of the driving range (which is to the left). The first 6 holes are all so close together with only a few shrubs separating them, it feels like there is so much space.
