Tourist Sauce S9 - Who will be the golf daddy?

Totally fair. Just wanted to make sure you knew there was history/context in case you didn’t already know!

First episode where I can say. Hard pass on this course lol

Appreciate it!

Don’t get me wrong, DeVries is great, but it seems like the guis give him his flowers way more than any other modern architect.

I’m curious if that’s intentional or just the vibe of how they talk about him versus the other industry leaders.

Just realized this is what the PGAT needs to add excitement.

Venomous snakes.

Bravo. That was awesome.

What a place. Not sure how it exists tbh. First course still seemed pretty ridiculous, but the second course did it for me.

The Airbnb and food vibe was on point though. Plays into the Sweetens cove vibe a little. An empty piece of land to explore and make what you want.

I’d still rather play almost all the other courses shown this season though.

That ending drone shot was so well done. Really made it seemed like these guys were at the edge of the world.

What an episode. Bucket list destination.

lol we spent half the episode talking about how much most of the group preferred the other course on the island to his.

in all seriousness, mike is the man and I respect and appreciate his career and his work. it’s rustic and what golf needs more of. he’s done more with less. we’ve also played more of his courses than any other architect over the last three seasons, so you’re dealing in recency bias here. but I don’t think we’ve made him out to be on a level with some of his contemporaries.

Idk what it is but Ocean Dunes is speaking to me. Both courses look sick but there’s just something about it. Great episode!

Hah my message was sent before you got to Ocean Dunes and were only glowing about Cape Wickham, but that’s a fair push.

I’m not sure about recency bias, as TS Michigan was 2+ years ago and you’ve done content about other designers since then. I think it’s more about how overly positively the group speaks about the totality of his approach that makes it feel like you put him at the same level or above his contemporaries. I haven’t seen a discussion around where you all rank him amongst them, so if that happened, mea culpa on missing it.

Regardless, loved tonight’s episode! Just one gui’s observation.

I’ve played basically all of my golf in rattlesnake country but can honestly say I couldn’t handle the sheer quantity of deadly things the guys played around. Id be irons off the tee all day making sure I didn’t miss the fairway once

We’ll have to agree to disagree on that one.

That was fantastic. Probably my second favorite episode ever after Grand Rapids.

Great work, guys.

I’m so terrified of snakes. I found myself looking away from the TV during the close up shots. I legit don’t think I’d step off the fairway out there

the “looks like he’s from the future” from @djpie on @Tron 's aesthetic is Jeremy Pruitt erasure
