That’s the exact opposite of my refuge event experience.
I’ve played in 7 or 8 events that used quota, and all but 1 of them were won by high caps. One gui that’s a 30ish has won multiple events.
While low caps score a lot of points, it’s really tough to get to the quota, especially at courses without high course ratings. Even if a high cap struggles most of the round, they only need 1-3 good holes to blow out their quota.
back to back seasons with brook and the bluff on the tourist sauce soundtrack means I’m contractually obligated to share the time they accidentally sang “what she does to me / when she makes love to me” playing their cover of the beach boys’ “don’t worry baby” during the mother-son dance at my friend’s wedding.
There’s a huge difference in quotas between 18 and 30 handicap, they’re not the same.
Every par is worth 2 points, so starting point is 36 points minus your course handicap. Assuming the course rating is equal to course par, an 18 handicap would have a quota of 18 points, and a 30 handicap would have a quota of 6 points.
Barring any sandbagging issues, quota seems to disproportionately benefit the high cap that hits the ball decently but struggles on/around the greens (easiest place to get hot/have variability from their norm) or the high variability (aka makes more birds than they should based on their cap, along with doubles) mid cap.
Just want to shout out how great the bonus content is! Very additive to the nest membership. It’s a shame the baggage guy at Sydney couldn’t get on board with joining.
It would have been better if the guy was like “have you seen this YouTube show from no laying it up, they send two schwaldos in the middle of nowhere America with barely enough money to play golf and end up having to sleep in a van sharing a can of American Parmi”
Having the NLU boys in my hometown of Adelaide was an absolute treat! At the airport, wandering around the city streets I know so well and even dropping into the Hindley St McDonalds for an after dinner McFlurry…it was quite surreal seeing it all on video.
So glad you had a great time in our little town and enjoyed RAGC so much! Never had the chance to play it myself, but have twice caddied for my Dad when they used to have open days many many years ago.
Absolutely loved this episode, awesome season so far
NYC subways have tap to enter as well and it keeps track of your CC number so if you ride enough times in a certain amount of time it becomes free based on their weekly pass rate.
