Tourist Sauce S9 - Who will be the golf daddy?

Chris Hemsworth > Liam Hemsworth.

Compared to its brother next door, St Michael’s is Liam Hemsworth.

The lads are spending a few days in Victoria before heading down to King Island Wed /Thur … two superb courses with the third the public course also great fun.

Ocean Dunes is not a superb course in my view. Has some spectacular par 3 shots over/towards the ocean but that’s about it. I’d play Cape Wickham over Ocean Dunes 9-1 in a 10 game split. The 1 being in a cart with a single club and a pair of gaiters (to prevent snakes up my pants) just to collect balls from the rough and sell them to the KI pub to finance my next round at Cape Wickham.

I had a similar view first time on KI, appreciated Ocean Dunes more second time around but it’s still a 7/3 split.
The KI golf and bowls club is certainly worth a go with Australia’s cheapest golf club beers!!!

They need to re-route ocean dunes, the last holes are such a let down imo

Completely agree. The finish in a giant pothole is a terrible way to end a course named Ocean Dunes…

I would be 8-2 for Cape Wickham. CW has the best flow from green to tee of any course I have ever played, and OD has one of the worst. Great holes on OD, but the flow is very poor in comparison.

Never played/seen either… but now I know I’d play them in a 10-0 split…. Thank you

AH. I get it now. I didn’t know enough when I was out there to try and get out on New South Wales. Big oversight, though I loved St Michaels.

It was a 2-0 split for CW for me on my trip last year. No regrets but interested to see ocean dunes if they’re going

Our next trip there will we OD after arrival - get to CW late and wake up to the 1st hole in perfect light

Can vouch for the lobster rolls at OD. Probably the highlight of the visit there.

Agree, 18 finishes inland with no ocean views and all of a sudden we have powerlines running the length … OD good holes are very good, CW is by far the better course though.
Interesting to see what happens with both courses once 7MB opens given the 3/4 day Barnbougle and Hobart trip sounds pretty good.

IMO neither will be there in 10 years.

Yep.

I have a very bad feeling for the KI courses once it is VERY easy to have 4+ Tassie mainland courses in good proximity of a capital city airport…
7 Mile Beach, 5 Mile Beach, Arm End and everything up at Barnbougle.

Please get in contact when you need a plan created down here for your next trip!

The 18th at Wickham certainly won’t be. :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

I think 18 is safe - it’s set pretty high up (oh and this is my mate James playing his 2nd to 18 :joy:)

And how did he go?

Nah mate — it’s literally falling into the ocean as we speak!

Oh wow - ok - was not like that when we were there in Feb 2020, a month before the world stuffed up.
