Waiting to see if nlu travel company will be offering a trip
If I love you man isnāt in there, there is a problem. So under appreciated.
Sign me up!
I figure that since Iām going along for the Scotland Trip I may not get a spot on the next big NLU tripā¦
I suspect in the future they will have bigger trips. Hopefully many more. Iām sure they will all be unique and fun filled. Iām sure Ireland and Scotland would love to work with them to encourage tourism. Crazy how fast they sold out the Scotland trip.
Being in the nest will probably give you the option of attending. At some point, it may be more a question of budget than opportunity.
Knives and cutting boards belong in the knives and cutting boards thread!
Itās an Invitational. Nothing was officially sold
Thatās 37 years.
god dammit I even thought that to myself as I typed it but then I put 36 hahah
County Sligo is maybe my favorite course theyāve shown yet.
Wow that place looks good.
One of my favourite episodes of the season.
And only about 28% due to the āCheers to all accountants everywhere!ā
@Booch my wallet is lucky it isnāt golf season in Eire right now or Iād be seeing you this weekend
Now, when you say ācoolerā do you mean ānightmarishā? Gave me fits when I was there and seeing the drone footage only reinforced why. I canāt wait to go back and get kicked in the face again.
Being able to play year round makes it a lot easier to turn a profit, and being a muni. Every course is different, and every city muni is different. Not trying to say every muni makes money.
But that being said, Torrey Pines is a local Muni owned by the city, has two courses to work with, has a line for Tee Times everyday, and a walk ups that donāt get out. You can play every single day, tee times every 8 minutes, out of town players paying $200+ to play.
The Golf division of San Diego Parks and Rec reports annual revenue around $20 Million a year, and revenue the fluctuates between $2-$4 Million annually.
Has everything to do with playing year round.
Ah listen, itās always golf season really it just depends if you can handle the weather which will change every 15/20 minutes. My old man was caddying in The West one year and always says its the worst weather heād ever seen on a course. And the hardest time he had caddying just trying to keep clubs dry
Rain pants were a complete waste of time and by the time they got to 5 tee, the big drop off, he had to empty his pockets every couple of minutes because they were filling up with rain. Heās known for his poetic licence sometimes but having experienced rain at The Point before, itās hard not to believe it.
For reference The West is played Easter week every year so this was technically spring
Hardest par 4 Iāve ever attempted to play. Donāt think Iāve parred it in 25/30 attempts
Yeah the year round piece is a game changer. I wasnāt trying to convey skepticism, rather that I was impressed with what theyāve done. Now I can be jealous of the weather AND their level of competence.
Iām going to go ahead and consider any muni that has hosted the US Open on a different category though
The conditions at The West are generally the toughest conditions the top amateurs around Ireland, and some from abroad, will face all year round. Some of the scoring is phenomenal and some is, well, not so good⦠Itās made for matchplay though once the strokeplay rounds are done. Great test of golf no matter what format youāre playing though.
Looking forward to playing with both of you when I get over to Ireland!!!
